Lee Wallis's ball number 7 came out of the purple velvet bag in Strikers are Key draw 15 of this stunning season, made after Saturday's exhilarating 2-1 win against Dagenham and Redbridge. Sadly Lee was unable to pick the right key and had to to make do with the £50 consolation prize.
It all means that an absolute minimum of £600 is up for grabs in the next draw as this terrific season continues to unfold.
See you for the next chapter!

The sixteenth Strikers are Key draw of the season took place in a packed and noisy Players' Bar after the 1-1 draw against Wrexham.
It was a debut on the SAK stage for Malcolm Pearce as the lead representative of the syndicate " Cash Out Crew 2" in which he is joined by Mark Hamill, Bill Keary, Warren Sargeant and " Eddie" Cunningham.
It was their ball number 17 which came out of the purple velvet bag but Malcolm was sadly unable to convert the chance of opening the safe. This key he chose was unfortunately not the one required and the crew had to make do with the consolation cash out prize of £50 instead.
It all means that a minimum of £900 rolls over to next Saturday's draw after the match v Guiseley.
See you there!

It was a first ever appearance for ball number 46 in the seventeenth Strikers are Key draw of the season made after the 4-0 win against Guiseley ( 107th time lucky!) Ball 46 is owned by the syndicate " Woodturners Utd" comprising Julie and Colin Parker and Jackie and Alan Finnan. Julie stepped on to the Strikers are Key stage to try her luck but sadly could not choose the correct key meaning her syndicate had to make do with the £50 consolation prize. It means that a minimum of £1,200 will be up for grabs in the double draw to be made after the match v Solihull Moors on 10th March. See you then #onwardsandupwards #inittogether

It was a red-letter day for club treasurer Rob Oakes, whose ball (number 30) was pulled out of the Strikers are Key purple velvet bag by new Hall of Fame inductee, Lennie Dennis, after the hard-fought 1-0 win v Solihull Moors.
Rob went on to choose the correct key, thereby relieving the safe of its full contents, amounting to £1,300! He then promptly put a large chunk of his winnings behind the bar, which meant the club's 120th Birthday celebrations went on even longer into the evening! Well done and thank you Rob!
The second Strikers are Key draw of the day (draw19 of the season) was made by club legend Tony Rains who pulled ball 50 out of the bag, owned by Mark Kidd and Graham Starns. Sadly Kiddo was unable to emulate our treasurer's good fortune, winning the pair the £50 consolation prize instead.
Onwards we go to draw 20 after the match v Chester in two weeks' time.

The Strikers are Key safe was just recovering from being pillaged by the Club treasurer last time out when lightning struck twice in the 20th draw of the season, made in a boisterous Players' Bar after the 3-2 win v Chester which took the U's to the top of the National League table. The safe's defences were breached by John and Dave Parker, owners of ball number 15 ('Ome M'Lady) which came out of the purple velvet bag. John then went on to select the right key and relieved the safe of its £500 contents. Congratulations to them, both stalwart U's fans.
The SAK safe will be licking its wounds and seeking to tighten up its defences in the 21st draw to be made after the match v Bromley on Easter Monday!
See you then.

The Strikers are Key safe surrendered its contents for the third time in the last four attempts after Easter Monday's match v Bromley.
This time it was Ball 45's turn to take advantage of the safe's generosity - "Lennie's size 9s" syndicate owned by Bob Bone, Cathy Brown, Dave Burgess and Ian Bell. Simon Walton chose the right key on their behalf winning the quartet the £200 booty. Well done to them!
Onwards to Draw 22 after the game v Hartlepool on 14th April. See you then.

The penultimate 2017/18 Strikers are Key draw took place in the Players' Bar after the 1-1 draw with Hartlepool United.
Ball number 8 emerged from the purple velvet bag for the very first time, owned by the syndicate "The Good Eggs", comprising Keith Robinson and Natalie Snow.
Sadly Keith was unable to pick out the key which would have relieved the safe of its £350 contents, meaning he and Natalie had to make do with the £50 consolation prize instead.
It all means that a minimum of £550 MUST be won in the final draw of the season which will be made during the End of Season Party after the match v Aldershot Town on 28th April. All welcome.
See you then

The 23rd and final Strikers are Key draw of this fabulous season will take place during the End of Season Awards Party in the Times Square Lounge after the match v Aldershot Town.
A minimum of £600 will be in the safe and MUST be won. If the first syndicate fails to open the safe, we keep going until the right key is chosen!
Thank you to everyone involved in this important and fun scheme this season - your support is hugely appreciated.
For info; here are the 22 balls which have so far appeared this season : 37; 32; 21; 3; 19; 22; 29; 16; 35; 25; 43; 26; 9; 23; 7; 17; 46; 30; 50; 15; 45; 8
The safe has been quite generous having been opened on 8 of the 22 attempts made...
Unbelievably there have been 112 draws made since the initiative started and only 4 balls have yet to emerge from the purple velvet bag; 1; 27; 34; 38 . Will one of those balls appear for the very first time this Saturday? We'll see...
The most prolific? Numbers 9 and 26 which we have seen five times each.
Good Luck and thanks again to everyone involved. Great fun.

The 23rd and final Strikers are Key draw of the season duly took place after last Saturday's thrilling match v Aldershot Town. The safe's contents were swollen to £700 courtesy of the goals scored against the Shots by Tommy Wright and Ross Lafayette. Four attempts were made to open the safe on a day when its contents had to be won! The first three unsuccessful attempts were made by: Ball 31 owned by "" The Oddbods"; Graham, Lyn, Daphne and Simon Baker and Judith Tonge Ball 3 owned by the syndicate "Another Goal Missed" comprising Neil Robinson, Paul Lane, Russell Miller, David Smart and Nick Taylor and Ball 44 owned by the "Last of the Summer Whine" quartet; Mark Frake, Chris Vagg, Mark Kidd and Bob Budd. All three syndicates had to make do with the £50 consolation prize leaving the £550 residue to be won by Ball 4 owned by Paul, Tim and Janice Loughlin. Congratulations to them! A massive thank you once again to everyone involved in Strikers are Key this season. It is a fun but important fundraising initiative for the club. Hoping most of you will be up for it again in 2018/19? Let me know AB #inittogether
