Only 19 days to go until the first SAK draw of the new season!
Thank you to all those people who have pledged their support of the initiative once again and a great big welcome to FIVE brand new syndicates for 2017/18. We're going to have a lot of fun!
A quick reminder to those who have yet to settle up that payment can be by cheque, bank transfer to the club account or cash. If you're planning to pay by standing order the first payment is due on 1 Aug and needs to be presented to your bank in plenty of time (ie not much left!) To those outstanding syndicates, please let me know your plans by e mail on sak@suttonunited.net before the end of the month.
Strikers are Key at 3:15 - Sat 5th Aug - Players' Bar. I can't wait!

Collect your Strikers are Key membership cards and details from me on Friday from the season ticket table at GGL gate before Friday's match v Norwich.
I'm also there with my cash tin to collect final payments from those syndicates still to pay.
Thank you all for your support of this scheme once more.

Sincere apologies for the absence of the first SAK draw of the season yesterday.
It was all going so well - the flight was about to leave - on time - before the pilot iinformed us that the aircraft had "technical" problems and we had to get off the plane and return to the terminal building.
8 hours and 20 mins later a replacement airplane arrived.....
Thanks to Rob on Twitter, Kiddo by text and Pat on Instagram for keeping us fully informed about the match.
Rest assured Draw 1 WILL take place; in fact it will be a triple draw after the Bank Holiday fixture v Maidstone ( draws in respect of Orient, Macclesfield and Maidstone)
Full details shortly. Watch this space.....

Apologies for the delay - the selection of strikers whose League goals will boost the SAK fund by £50 each will be:
Ross Lafayette Tommy Wright Moses Emmanuel Kieron Cadogan
and, by popular demand, as an Honorary Member:
Dundo!
Obviously injuries may affect the line up (cf Adam Coombes) as the season progresses but this is your first cast list, ladies and gentlemen!

There's going to be a TRIPLE SAK draw after the match v Maidstone on Saturday 26th August. 5:45pm Players' Bar.
Draw 1 v Orient -£200
Draw 2 v Macclesfield - £550 if safe not opened in Draw 1; £350 if so ( Three goals counting towards this draw - Dundo's v Tranmere and Moses' and Tommy's v Macclesfield)
Draw 3 v Maidstone min £750 , £550 or £200 ( depending on previous potential openings) plus £50 per goal by nominated strikers v Chester and Maidstone.
All clear?!

The first three SAK draws of the new season took place in the Players' Bar after yesterday's match v Maidstone.
Here are the results:
Draw 1 - Leyton Orient - £200 in the safe - ball 32 emerged from the purple velvet bag owned by " Bruce's Retirement Fund" comprising Chris and John Elliott, Karen and James O'Reilly. Sadly, John chose the wrong key winning his syndicate the £50 consolation prize instead
Draw 2 - Macclesfield - following Craig Dundas' winner at Tranmere and goals from Moses Emmanuel and Tommy Wright to beat Macclesfield, the fund rose to £550 for draw 2. This time it was the turn of ball 37 owned by the syndicate "It's a Dog's Life" comprising Paul Chalmers, Nick the Greek, Duke, Colin Payne and Mark Notton. Once again the quest to pick the right key was in vain for Duke and only £50 changed hands as a consequence once more.
Draw 3 - Maidstone - the fund rose to a healthy £900 following goals by Tommy Wright and Kieron Cadogan at Chester and Tommy Wright's third goal in as many games v Maidstone. Julian Rozario's " Hooked on U's", ball number 21, was the next to appear and this time Julian stepped confidently onto the SAK stage and selected the right key winning the full £900 in the process. Well done to Julian, U's fan home and away since 1974!
We go again with draw 4 which will take place after next Saturday's match v Maidenhead.
See you there!

Special thanks to Tim Vine for conducting the fourth Strikers are Key draw of the season after today's match v Maidenhead United.
One of our new syndicates for 2017/18, " Another Goal Missed" owned by Neil Robinson, Paul Lane, Russell Miller, David Smart and Nick Taylor saw their ball number 3 come out of the purple velvet bag. Sadly they were unable to choose the right key, winning the £50 consolation prize along the way and leaving a minimum of £400 in the safe for draw 5 after next week's game v Gateshead.
See you there!

Strikers are Key draw 5, made after yesterday's 1-1 draw v Gateshead, had a distinctive " West Yorkshire" feel about it.
Conducted by Graham Driver, the groom-to-be who was visiting the Knights Community Stadium for the first time with a ten-strong stag party who were down in London for the weekend from Keighley, it was ball number 19, owned by the consortium " The Yatzee Gods", that he plucked from the purple velvet bag.
In the absence of syndicate members Dave Smith ( who had a great excuse as he lives in Adelaide!), Gareth Lambe and Kevin Sutton, it seemed appropriate for yesterday's MotM Simon Walton (ex Leeds Utd and Guiseley to keep the West Yorkshire theme running) to climb onto the SAK stage and try his luck for the owners of ball 19.
Alas to no avail. The guys won the £50 consolation prize and we move on to draw 6 in a fortnight's time after the match v Barrow when a minimum of £600 will be up for grabs.
In the meantime, we have a new West Yorkshire U's branch. See you at Guiseley in November fellas!
See everyone else at Dagenham!
