Thought I'd get this one up and running a little earlier than normal. Very much looking forward to this game on Saturday though I can't say I know a great deal about Brackley Town, I am however expecting a very tough encounter.
We've been knocked out at this stage in 3 of the last 5 seasons and in fact haven't actually progressed beyond Round 3 since the infamous Trophy run of 1999/2000.
Owing to the postponement at Barrow last Saturday I guess we will have a very fresh squad travelling up at least. Hopefully Nicky Bailey has recovered from his recent injury and I wonder if Terell Thomas' loan has been extended (I sure hope it has).
Who's going to this one then?

Quite a few of us driving there, me, my dad, my two uncles, my cousin and my nan and grandad and my flags of course, not sure whether they count as attending the game π, looking forward to this one! St James Park will be Ground 71 for me!

After last weeks disappointment there will be many ready for their football fix this Saturday! Cup game, new ground, I guess there will be at least the 120 that missed out on Saturday

Terell Thomas was in training yesterday and the players look in good spirits!
As to the Game on Saturday Dos will be aware of the likely playing conditions and may go with one of the Twin Towers BUT our midfield is going to be VERY STRONG!!

Looking forward to visiting a new ground, but contingency plans may be required. The weather forecast for Brackley is disconcertingly similar to the one for Barrow last week. ππ§

Well they have had a match postponed for a waterlogged pitch in each of the last 2 seasons, so not impossible. At least the journey time is a lot less were that to happen to us again.

If it does get called off then hopefully it will be before the majority of us are far from home.

Working my way down the pyramid I haven't (yet) found one that has had 2 home matches postponed (for weather related reasons) in the last 2 years. For a number you have to go back 3 years or more for even a single postponement. So, perhaps surprisingly, weather related postponements aren't actually that common.
Of course as you go down the pyramid it is more likely that grounds are increasingly inferior, and resources available to overcome adverse weather effects are less. It follows that you might expect a pattern to emerge of increasing postponements as you descend the pyramid. However to get to "95% of the teams in non league..." I think is a stretch too far, and likely by some distance. So I think the answer to your question is "no".
Regardless I wasn't making any prediction, about our hosts or any other non league club, merely stating a fact that 2 games had been lost to weather, and furthermore the main point was that the inconvenience any such postponement would impart, should it occur, on the travelling fan would be less this time around.
My knowledge of Brackley's ground, and the micro-climate of weather it is situated in, is very small. So I have no rationale for why they have had games postponed previously, probably no more than bad luck. I am sure, as with the case of Barrow last weekend, the home club will very much want the game to go ahead, as any backlog in the fixture list is to their detriment, especially so given where they currently sit in their league.

I'd be interested to know your sample size and source of information as it's quite an intriguing subject. I certainly recall prior to our 3G, there were some seasons where games were called off due to waterlogged pitches, but by the same token I can recall at least 1 season in the Dos era where we had no home postponements.

That's the thing about weather forecasts - even in this modern day, it's very difficult to get it right more than 24 hours in advance. Invariably the forecast for Saturday will change tomorrow and Friday, maybe for the better or maybe for the worse. Seems like we just have to hold tight!
