Well, listening to that cheered me up as I trudged home from the office at gone 10pm. Only two points off the top now...and I’d rather have the points on the board than a game in hand.
Looking forward to making a weekend trip over. How fortunate that we are at home the day before Mothering Sunday...

2-0 to Sutton, a reversal of the scoreline at Kingfield in September. If Woking had been rather fortunate to win on that occasion, few would say that Sutton didn't deserve to win this evening, even though we weren't at our most fluent. Woking weren't the worst NL side to visit GGL this season, and Jamie Butler needed to be alert on several occasions, but once Byron Harrison had put us ahead in somewhat scrappy fashion just after the half-hour mark we rarely looked in trouble. Harrison's battle with Woking's burly centre back Richard Orlu was one of the features of this game, but our second goal, early in the second half, came from a different source, Harry B cutting the ball back for Tom B to tuck home.
With Macclesfield's match at Maidstone postponed because of a nasty accident on the M25, we close the gap on them to just two points. Saturday could be interesting!

Back to the game, Byron Harrison is really proving himself at SUFC, such a consistent player, a great addition to the squad and would love to see him sign on a permanent basis if we go up or even if we don’t, onto solihull and a slightly easier opponent but they’ve shown fight in recent games so could be tougher than expected

3 goals in his last 3 games, what a shrewd signing from Dos he's turned out to be. It's great to see a striker hitting the ground running for us.

Well something good had to come, I mean look at the unfortunate performances by Dickson and Fleetwood obviously not Doswells fault but finally a striker we have signed that is consistent, first one since Dan Fitchett and Tommy Wright coming into the team I believe

I think one poster on the Woking forum summed up tonight perfectly, they were beaten by a side that didn't get out of neutral. In truth I can't argue with that. Its difficult to find any positives for the Cards, as we simply controlled the game from 1st to last minute. I think Woking had one shot all night, and our 2 goals could have easily been 3-4.
From our perspective if was the perfect if slightly dull way to win your matches, we managed the last 20mins without a hint of any fightback from Woking. We close the gap to 2pts on Macclesfield, and if we continue to perform as we have been, Wembley might be the booby prize??

We sit 11 points above 8th. What would be a realistic target for a play off spot? 76? Another 10 points in 10 games?

Hadn't realised that we were quite so close to getting over that line. As far as I can number crunch that does seem a plausible total.
Happy thought!
