Hi, As a neutral - though one who is fast learning to like Sutton United - I was photographing the game today and put together this match report along with the pictures. Full disclosure, considering I was there taking pictures, they're pretty crap today! thegrassrootstourist.com/2018/03/07/sutton-united-fc-3/Apologies for intruding in your thread.

Scrappy first half, some really nice moves put together 2nd as the game opened up a bit. Woking looked like they wouldn’t score if we were still playing. JC controlled things perfectly at the back and won’t have had many easier games. Good to get 3 points and squeeze that gap.

We sit 11 points above 8th. What would be a realistic target for a play off spot? 76? Another 10 points in 10 games? I guess it depends on what play off spot you are looking at - I reckon that 2nd or 3rd has to be the target now to avoid the first play off match. I also think that gets you a home draw in the one play off match needed to get to Wembley ? Of course the title is still very much ON, so lots to play for! I thought last night was the easiest match of the season we have had at home.

I think Guiseley has been our easiest game at home to be honest and Woking second easiest...

onto solihull and a slightly easier opponent Mad if you think Solihull will be a walkover - listen to Dos' post-match interview. This will be one of the tougher games of our run-in.

Yeah saw that last night and thought oh sh*t this is gonna be tough, I knew Solihull had made some changes but I didn’t realise they were ex-football league players, yeah will be a tough game indeed, just need to win to keep the pressure on Macc

There aren't any easy games in this league Agreed but we have had the odd easy game over the past two seasons at home ahem North Ferriby at home and Guiseley at home this year, Woking at home seemed like it was quite easy last season but in context yes but on the day, games can sometimes feel very easy...

I thought JC was the best player on the park by some distance and there were great displays from the whole of the back 4 with Aswad also having a great game. Woking didn't get a sniff. We will have to play better though in the coming matches and Saturday will be a really difficult test. Was rather surprised that TB got MoM as I thought he had an ordinary game especially in the first half. I'm not sure why the sponsors always insist giving the award to a forward player, there's plenty in midfield and defence that are equally deserving. I also hope that this reflects in February's player of the month award.
It seems that the National League highlights don't like to show our shots hitting the bar! After Eastmond's shot from 30 yards at Macclesfield wasn't shown (and we still haven't seen full highlights from this match for some reason. Perhaps someone can explain why), last nights early effort wasn't shown either. Hopefully it'll be on SUFCTV's full highlights.

Good performance last night against a decent woking team. Thought we looked a bit lackustre and uninspired before the 1st goal, but comfortable and never in danger of conceding. Once we got the breakthrough we looked a different team, confident and really turned the screw. Overall a good win and another important step towards a very successful season. As for man of the match there were many very good individual performances such as JC, Kenny Davis and Harrison, but my vote would be Tom Bolly, thought he was a threat all night, gave the woking back 4 trouble where ever he played and worked tirelessly for the team. Special mention must go to Cadogan too who when he came on really gave the woking full backs issues. On to Solihull now, and a game I think will be a tough one. They’re scrapping at the bottom and will want to try and nick some points where possible. Hopefully we don’t see a Torquay esque struggle on Saturday and get another 3 pts.
