Following on from announcing Graham Alexander as manager, Salford have today signed Danny Whitehead who was a key part of Macclesfields title-winning squad and Fleetwood defender Nathan Pond (for an undisclosed fee too) - a couple of statements of intent there!

Whittaker is a classy player indeed. I think at this stage in his career it's not about level of football but the project and of course money.
Salford is an exciting proposition for him at this stage of career imo. He's played plenty of EFL football to know he was a quality player I think he's content with what he's achieved with Macclesfield.
