I’ve been looking forward to this match ever since the fixtures came out last month. Although money-bags Salford have started slowly in their debut season at this level (surprisingly losing at Gateshead on Tuesday) I’m expecting a stern test on Saturday - maybe it’s a good time to play them though as their team is still gelling.
The U’s on the other hand have started well picking up 4 points from a possible 6 and I’m hopeful that we can add to our tally this weekend. Hopefully Nicky Bailey can come back into the side after missing the narrow win against Eastleigh.
Could be a decent size crowd for this one!

Think Nicky's probably out for a couple of weeks, sadly.

It’s fair to say Salford have changed a bit..

Gary Neville turns red, he's down at Gateshead, and he's starting to cry
As Salford lose away, just buy another player, I heard Lim say

It’s fair to say Salford have changed a bit.. Reminds me of the old adage that you don't know what you've got until it's gone. Sutton are the perfect example of how a club at this level should be run. So many non-league clubs and communities ruined by some bloke who has a few quid trying to live a dream. Well, in my opinion anyway

I'm not going to lie, there are a lot of things I miss about how things were before we became so successful. Would I go back to that? Not a chance.

I note from the preview for tomorrows game that Wayne Brown has received his international clearance and is available for selection which is good news.

Apologies if I've missed the answer to this question but is segregation in place today?

Fantastic 2-1 win, Lafayette scoring the winner following fantastic play by sub Josh Taylor. All with 10 men following Aswad’s red card.
My first look at SUFC 18/19 today, and I’m impressed. In the first 20 Salford were the better team, but after they went a goal up we settled down and deserved the win. Great to see Craig Eastmond on the score sheet, deserved motm. Josh Taylor was superb when he came on

Absolutely fantastic win. Josh Taylor's assist and the build up to Lafayette's goal was sublime. Apparently Gary Neville was in attendance. Anyone grab a autograph?

I'm sure many of us feared the worst when Aswad received his marching orders early in the second half. But, as sometimes happens in football, the ten men played better than the eleven had. All three substitutions played their part in this result, Josh choosing to pass rather than shoot at the end of his exhilarating run, allowing Ross to score from a tight angle. Dean Beckwith came on to make an extra centre back alongside a head-bandaged JC and Cloughie (with Dan W and Dale then playing as wing-backs). And credit too to Aaron Drinan who played as a lone striker for the last 15 minutes, holding the ball up purposefully. Yet this was a team effort, and every one of the outfield players worked his socks off in those last forty minutes.
All this happened after a first 45 minutes that saw more attacking football than the entire 90 against Eastleigh on Tuesday. Not great defending for their goal (the third we've conceded this season aftrer failing to deal with a corner), but some nice build-up play set up Craig Eastmond for a fine equaliser.
The win keeps us 6th, with another difficult match coming up at Ebbsfleet (who got their first win of the season today at Hartlepool). Salford, meanwhile, perhaps need to learn how to defend a lead.
