Fresh from the penalty heartache of last Saturday in Dublin, this weekend we begin our FA Cup campaign with a tricky looking tie at Wealdstone (going well in the National South currently).
With the increased prize money on offer this season - this tie is massive with £25,000 at stake for the winners. I would be disappointed if we don’t at least get a replay out of this one. Wealdstone fans think they have a good chance of an upset judging by comments on their forum.
Dos has asked for big numbers in attendance for this one at a ground where we haven’t traditionally fared too well over the years, though we did secure an excellent 2-0 win at Grosvenor Vale during our Conf South title-winning season a couple of seasons ago.

After missing out on Dublin due to family commitments, there's no way I'm missing this one. It'll be interesting to see if we keep the faith with the 3 man front. I certainly like to see us playing attacking football away from home, and avoiding a replay with our league game in hand would certainly be a bonus.

Wealdstone are going to get a good turning over.
I’m predicting a smiliar outcome to Dartford in the 1st Rd on Saturday November 05th, 2016.
Dartford were flying high in the NLS - and we with around 350/400 in attendance scored 6 after a frantic first half.
Unfortunately work is calling (Blackburn v Leeds midday KO) so it will be the wireless and TONY D for me on the train home.
Wealdstone 1 SU 5

I'd be very surprised if it were anywhere near as easy as you're suggesting, Sol. You mentioned Dartford but remember they managed to score three against us that day!

I very much remember (hence the line about a frantic first half). However, we always had a spare gear and I think JONAH A might just turn out to be our ROARIE D during this cup run.

Looking forward to this (as I do all cup games!).
We have been somewhat shy in the goal scoring stakes, particularly from the strikers, so let's hope a game against a, theoretically, weaker defence than we usually face will result in a morale boosting hatful.

Hope it's not M Khan (obscure early 90s reference)
With our injury hit squad, it's about getting a result, and if that is a 1-0 I'll be more than happy. Just get into Monday's draw please.

Yes, that £25k prize money should hopefully be enough to cover our Irn Bru travel expenses!

I was being a little tongue in cheek there, although Dos did confirm in a recent interview that the money received was insufficient to full cover our travel expenses.

Hope it's not M Khan (obscure early 90s reference) Pretty sure he was just as bent in the 1980's too.......
