Lies. Waitrose wasn't founded until 1904 Did you have to Google that? Otherwise a supermarket starter for ten might well be your forte! Yes and no... I knew it was around that time but I did Google to check the exact year.

On the game tomorrow, I've been looking at some of your recent games on Youtube and you seem to be in good form with some decent performances/results which have got you into a play-off position.
I certainly don't think we'll match you for size and physicality and to get any sort of result I think we'll have to be at our best with yourselves not being quite at it.
Looking forward to an exciting encounter.

I actually thought that it was later than you said and was the 1910's. Fashion seemed to be the order of the day back then and a certain John Lewis was the fashion King. It's no House of Elliot (although that may have been the 20's) but I wonder what Sutton United wore as a kit back in the early 20th century?

Waite, Rose and Taylor grocery store 1904 in Acton I believe, became Waitrose 1908.

Horrendous game deserved to go out really.
Ayunga is playing for Kenya in the week that's why he got taken off early although I must say he didn't receive it very well.
Cloughie our new striker then could of expected as much.

Clough going up front with basically 30mins left to play told you all you needed to know about the game today.

Exciting Cup tie with both teams going for it. We created plenty of chances but failed to properly execute any of them. We do need a player up front who can hold the ball up and also win some headers. As amberfc said , we had to push Clough up front with 30 mins left. Still on a brighter note we go into the 2nd Round Cup draw on Monday and in the replay at Slough we can still go through as long we are not so wasteful with our chances.

0 -0.A shocking affair. An insult to the public....................... No attacking threat, long ball tactic continues with no one to hold up the ball and only option to change attack is push up a clearly injured centre back.

Think that’s an excellent crowd for an all pay game against a lower league team at this stage. Not ideal to have such a crucial game following Gateshead away but at least we would have had a couple weeks without a midweek match. I look forward to the replay at Slough. I’d put the importance of the FA Cup replay way ahead of Gateshead for the associated financial implications.

Opportunity missed? Or will our generally superior away form see us through in the replay?
This was another home game low on quality, although the driving rain and wind hardly made for ideal playing conditions. There were scoring opportunities for both sides, with Sutton having more of them, and it was disappointing that none of ours were put away, notwithstanding some fine goalkeeping from the visitors' Jack Turner. Even the normally reliable Kieron Cadogan spooned over the bar. It's hard to fault the workrate of Jonah and Aaron but, as intimated above, neither is (yet) an accomplished finisher. Stand-in centre forward Charlie Clough couldn't come up with a goal either.
Slough came closest to scoring when JC cleared a shot off the line, their players then appealing for what I heard one of their fans describe as a "stonewall penalty". The ref Mr Purkiss was quick to wave away those pleas. He also dismissed claims for handball against Turner as the match entered stoppage time.
At least we're in the hat for the second round. And Slough's new ground will be a tick-off for most of us.

He did do well Billy. Didn't realise Slough had moved to a new ground . Their old one was pretty dire from what i remember.

One to forget. Reminded me of the AFC Wimbledon a couple years back. Two sides finding it a little difficult to adjust to the occasion and at times quite appalling conditions.
Overall I thought Wealdstone were a better opponent, but the stats say it all. Same number of shots and same number of shots on target. I don't think either side can feel hard done by with the result. Bennett going off obviously changed the game plan (hope he's ok) but there's no reason to think we can't go there and get a result. It's an extra game we could do without though.
