Not much to add to Andy's observations, save to point out that over a third of our way into the season, these are our stats so far: P: 18, W: 9, D: 6, L: 3, F: 25, A: 20, Pts: 33. At this point into last season these were our stats: P: 18, W: 8, D: 6, L: 4, F: 24, A: 22, Pts: 30. So in summary, we have more wins, fewer losses, more goals scored, fewer goals conceded, and more points than we had in the most successful season in our club's history. I'm not sure what the expectations of others are, but in all honesty I think we're exceeding expectations at the moment and as things stand, I don't see any cause for concern. Quite the opposite, in fact. I think that what a lot of people forget is that this season there are more “professional” teams in the league with more money at their disposal and both Wrexham and Orient are playing a lot better and Salford, well will they live up to the hype? Considering the state of play in this league at the moment as trev says, we’re exceeding expectations and I am sure Coe April we will be in the playoffs.

It's all good. I've found my "ignore billy" button.
Baggies i think that in all honesty last season in the league was the exception rather than the rule. Macclesfield were all smiles and they are only heading in one direction.
It always gets me when people think the club has no ambition. And it winds me up even more when there's the odd idiot who goes around saying that Sutton are trying to fail because they don't want to go up after a bad performance. We need to take a look around. There are bigger clubs around with bigger fan bases and more resources doing worse than us. If we don't make the play offs and loiter in mid table that's actually alright. I'd take that over relegation, or even going up knowing we put the whole future of the club at risk trying to stay up like plenty of others have. Just ask fans of Rushden, Maidstone (Who did such a bad job in the 90s they nearly killed off Dartford too), Kettering, Darlington, Newport and so many others.
Our board may not be perfect and makes the odd mistake but the one they don't make is the most important. The finances. A few of These Johnny-cum-lately types who jumped on the Sutton journey as a result of our recent success really don't understand what the club has been through in the last 30 years and don't understand what could be at stake.
12th place and security or a play off spot and us in danger. No brainer.

Never understood your issue with people travelling up and down the country to watch Sutton. It is none of your business how people choose to spend their time and money.15 quid is cheap for this league but as you are adverse to travelling much beyond your front gate you wouldn't know that. As for the football, we play better away from home (so far this season) probably because that away support you find so difficult to understand gets behind the team and makes more noise than the vast majority of home fans who don't post on here do at GGL. Quite right ! I just find the full time devotion of a handful of fans to a part time football club astonishing. It must surely set alarm bells ringing if you are posting on here morning, noon and night. If people want to travel 600 miles plus on cold, rainy Winter days to stand behind the goal where you can't see much of anything especially if you are constantly consulting a mobile phone, what business is it of mine ? None !

Well, back to football related news Sutton have drawn either Hartlepool or Gillingham at home should we overcome Slough.
Who would people prefer?

I've sometimes thought Billy gets a bit of a rough ride on this forum. But that last post from him is just absolute bollox. And if alarm bells ring for him for those that post here too often, then just look at how many posts he has done - 2030!

Worry about the second round when we're in it In the draw so thought it should warrant a mention at least.

Worry about the second round when we're in it In the draw so thought it should warrant a mention at least. Slough away is all that matters. It doesn’t matter who plays who in the 2nd round if we don’t make it. As for Billy there is a difference between a supporter and a watcher. Neither is better, but I for one enjoy traveling the country, going to interesting and odd places and then experiencing the comradeship, friendship and community that comes from watching Sutton away.

I only go to home games for various reasons and the odd away match and I congratulate those who follow the club all over the British Isles. I've noticed what a difference the team make with that following.
I still wish we had another striker!

I keep thinking about that terrible replay one night at Bromley, I think we lost 1-0, and Mark Watson missed a sitter. We were expected to turn up and win that one I seem to remember.
Never has a banana had so much skin to slip on!!!

No brainer. I'm definitely new to the scene and from my own experiences have spoke to a few die hard been around a long time Sutton fans who think play offs is realistic. I'd be happy with top 10.

Also just a thought. Clough? Slough? Shouldn't they be pronounced the same? ? Not if you're being *cough* thorough enough.
