www.daggers.co.uk/news/-LXZMUncoVtiLyvDzTESThere's one line in this that concerns me: "As a result of this review, together with intelligence concerning travelling spectators, the Club has decided not to allow home supporters admittance to the A13 Steel Stand for the Sutton United game on Saturday 23rd February for safety reasons." If a few arseholes are tarnishing the reputation of the club to a point where clubs are starting to get concerned about Sutton "fans" behaviour this early before a game then I think us in the majority need to be even more vigilant.

I agree wholeheartedly that collectively, this is something we must be more proactive about. If we don't get our own house in order, then other clubs will start acting against us. As a direct result of some recent ugly incidents, this process has already begun. Happy to help in whatever way I can to kick these morons out.

There were problems in the bar at half time during the Aldershot game. I don't think they are worried about our fans.
Forum post:
Can't believe how naive and stupid Dagenham FC were today re the lack of segregation. Could have had serious trouble in that bar and as it was the police had to call reinforcements in. Not sure if anything happened after the game but there was a large mob of Dagenham fan at the tube station when I drove past. Was certainly like a step back in time today.

It's a fact of (footballing)life that most ex-league clubs have got some sort of organised hooligan element within their support. Putting my Gillingham hat on, I can't say I ever noticed anything significant when playing Dagenham, but Aldershot certainly do and always have. Likewise Wrexham, Orient and Chesterfield. Particularly the latter.

We can't control other clubs fans, but we could have a positive influence on some of our own misguided ones.

Intel regarding travelling supporters could easily be D&R's spin on the situation to placate the home crowd. I know we're talking about unpalatable behaviour here but, honestly, if anyone seriously thinks Sutton are developing a "reputation" in comparison to other fans in this league (and even the one below), I do think that's a bit of a pessimistic and in fact, unrealistic slant. Spotty kids with the odd flare who think they're "pwoper nawty" and would bolt at the first sign of genuine trouble. That's all they are and hopefully all they'll ever be.

The visit of Ebbsfleet tomorrow brings Nathan Ashmore down to Gander Green Lane. Nathan has suffered abuse (both physical and racist) at some away games recently. We at Sutton Utd are welcoming and friendly and support our team in a positive way. When Nathan takes his position in front of our fans can we give him a round of applause and make his trip to GGL memorable for all the right reasons? Get behind our boys. COYYs. I've never heard of him or his problems. It seems a bit patronising to me though.

It probably is there own supporters because I had trouble with a couple at GGL a year or so ago.

It's a fairly serious issue (maybe not for you, but in general), just a way of saying "fair play for having to tolerate bigots" rather than "well done you for being black" don't you think?
