I have been told there should be about 9 first team fringe players playing tonight. Might pop down to see if my mates son J Eccleston gets out there.

Imagine we’ll get a first sighting of Jay Williams tonight at the heart of the defence.

A win in the SSC quarters beating Casuals 3-2 thanks to a hat trick from Deon Moore. Did anyone go that can comment on our performance? Was quite an entertaining game actually. Some good young players getting some great experience playing a long side some first team players. We should have put the game away in the first half, in the second they defended better and created a few chances. Same old, much like the first team, not doing enough with our pressure and opportunities. However, a deserved win, and the chance now to get into the final and give another good run out for those who need it next week.

Not as easy a win as it might have been, which can be explained by the balance of experienced first-team players being in the more advanced positions. So we were dangerous going forward but a bit shaky in defence.
The game could have been all over at half-time, Deon Moore scoring his first three goals for Sutton with some ease (after Omari Patrick had hit a thunderbolt against a post), but what looked like an own goal gave Casuals some hope. They gave it a go in the second half, pulling a goal back to make it 3-2 and giving us one or two anxious moments, but in the end we saw out the game quite comfortably.

Two consecutive first half hat-tricks at GGL and at the same end. Would probably have to go back a bit to see if that feat has happened before. Maybe Charlie Vaughan.

As noted by others, Deon scored the perfect hat trick last night - header, right foot, left foot. He was our biggest danger for the whole 90 mins

Rather predictably, Farnham won their quarter-final this evening, 3-0 against AFC Croydon Athletic and we now face them for a place in the final, possibly as early as Tuesday next week.
About 6 months ago, somebody made Farnham their pick for this competition….now who would that have been? Oh, it was me! Needless to say, I do hope I am so very wrong.

I rather doubt that we'll be playing Farnham next Tuesday, as they have a rearranged league game v Cobham that evening. The following Tuesday they're got another rearranged game, away to Croydon Athletic.

SSC should take preference over a CCL match. Certainly used to over all league fixtures.
