The semi has to be played by 23 April. The final is on 1st May. At non-league level all league games have to be completed by 27 April. Interesting dilemma for Farnham! Looks like a Thursday game coming up.

Dos often made the complaint that too few fixtures are played early in the season and too many scheduled for the middle of winter when the weather turns bad. Why this competition doesn’t start until October/November is completely stupid. Push every round a month earlier and this scheduling issue isn’t so severe

I suspect it is because many of the SSC entrants are involved in FACup, FA Trophy and Vase rounds.
There are also league cups as well as the league matches.
For reasons I am unsure of they also start their seasons later than EFL and National League. Indeed the FA Cup extra preliminary round is scheduled before some leagues commence.
It's not as obvious or simple as maybe expected.

If you schedule a game for the first week of September it can always be pushed back if need be. If it’s scheduled for the first week of November it isn’t going to be brought forward. There is at least one county cup that schedule the first round to be in pre season. There have to be some ideas to make this cup appear less of a mess in the future

Farnham are already up and already champions, so I cant imagine they will prioritise a league game now...

They are unbeaten in the league (2 draws) and i’m pretty sure they will be aiming to remain so, which would be a tremendous achievement. The two draws they conceded were away to the teams in 2nd and 3rd. In one of them, at Knaphill, they even had someone sent off very early on. The game ended 0-0 and, even down to ten men, Farnham still managed to create several good chances to win it. In the other draw, they were 2-0 down to Jersey Bulls before hitting back late on. I understand that they brought in a number of players from a higher level last summer, including two or three from Southern League Bracknell. That suggests there’s some money rolling around over there, but what they’ve been achieving still takes some doing.

Semi confirmed for Thursday . Two days before the home game v crawley can only envisage the club will be represented by academy players but will wait for the match preview.

I wonder if this can be seen as a positive at this point? If I'm not mistaken, Moore got a hat-trick in the last round & came on to secure us a point at Harrogate. So perhaps the timing is perfect for playing those fringe players in amongst the academy to keep them sharp and hungry for our final couple of games?

Sutton 3-0 down after 25 minutes. Farnham much the better team. Sutton playing hit and hope Sunday league standard football. Incredibly disappointing inept performance from our youngsters so far.
