Saturday marks the final fortnight of the season where we have a massively important trip up to Harrogate - a side whom we have a decent record against - winning the last two visits at Wetherby Road.
Tuesdays results went in our favour so we have to capitalise ourselves and hope other results continue to go our way on Saturday - all four teams at the bottom are on the road.
Interesting to see what lineup we put out - here’s hoping Jackson returns to the side and Goodliffe at the heart of the defence.
Good luck Sutton! Let’s bring those points back.

This is a must win, nothing else will do and could mean us being four points clear if results go our way. So the players must start on the front foot and go all out for this, so as I have said this is massive.⚽️⚽️⚽️

I understand the ‘must win’ sentiment and don’t necessarily disagree with it. However games are running out for everyone now not just us. You could make a reasonable case that ourselves, Forest Green and Colchester all fail to pick up another point this year in which case obviously we survive. Unlikely I know but we are talking about three teams here who have cumulatively lost 68 of their total 127 games.
More likely for me is that Forest Green have two demanding away fixtures that they lose whilst Colchester’s big opportunity is home against Grimsby who themselves are anxiously looking over their shoulders. - their other fixtures look more challenging. You never know a win on Saturday could ultimately be enough.
I’m still whistling the them to The Great Escape…

Purely coincidence...or maybe not.

I'm travelling up to Yorkshire tomorrow and feeling optimistic we can bring back the 3 points. My thoughts are that Colchester will lose at Crawley and Grimsby will lose at Crewe.
That scenario would indeed put us in a great position so i must wake up soon!!!

I’m coming over for the Crawley game. I was thinking it might be my last chance to see Sutton as a EFL outfit, but perhaps now, it will be to witness the Great Escape.

Of the bottom four, all away today, we have what looks the easiest fixture. That doesn't mean it will be easy!
We know that Goodliffe will be missing, and I fear that Lakin will be too. Fingers crossed for Jacko.

Having arrived in Harrogate, I can say that this will be yet another game this season on which the wind will have a significant influence.
I hope that the team have learned something about mastering the conditions.

I don’t think the Stockport match affected our confidence. I’m predicting we come back with a win today, or at least scrape a draw.
Over on the Forest Green forum the latest posts are about their new eco stadium and the vegan food available at the stadium. Clearly they’re not taking the relegation battle seriously so I think we can safely rule them out now.
I think that Crawley will make short work of those worthless Colchester. The latter have only had 2 clean sheets all season and Crawley are a team who know how to score.

Those worthless Colchester now 3-1 up. We really need to hold onto this win, nothing but 3 points will do.

Done, Basically we do not deserve to stay up based on failing to win any important games, we always freeze and run out of ideas. first goal said it all and came with a Sutton ribbon on it for them.
Can see the same in the last two games..
Back down to where we belong I am afraid, unless we can find some substantial investment, that is where we will stay and beyond. Not that I mind too much, This has been the most depressing season ever, so do we really want to stay up anyway?
Now to rebuild a new side. I imagine Steve will be behind it and its all down to him now in how we cope with a brand new team in the Nat League.
Small life line in that If Mansfield win mid week them MK Dons have nothing to play for in their last game. Other than that I have little hope. But I think Colchester and Grimsby are substantially better sides than we are, bottom line.
