Last night was a prime example of how away support can help the players. Take a bow all those who made it to Canvey - part of that victory was down to you.

With a "crowd " of 249 presumably including families and friends it would surely be easier to count them.............................

Do the non playing subs and backroom staff count in the 249 ?

No Billy, they don't. I'd say we had 35-40 there last night? About average for a mildy distant midweeker at this level.

Was the usual "hardcore", minus one or two who either couldn't get there through work commitments or transport problems, who regularly "support the team" through thick & thin......................

When we had a minutes silence before the start i made a rough head count and it was under 200.Add on absent season ticket holders an the ones still in the bar and its about right. There were two so called Canvey supporters who got very upset when the ref left the pitch. It was a good job there was a wire barrier between them!

They were the two I mentioned in an earlier post. You can add me to the list too. Silverfox would have gone but he had another offer! ;D

Us older fans have being doing this for 40 years or more Billy and I know most of the younger guys & gals there last night have been regular away fans for years too.
I'm lucky 'cos I have a few mates who are willing to act as a taxi service for me & they probably have no idea how grateful I am to them for doing so over a great many years. Cheers lads.
That's what nl footy is about & because we are currently in a regional (Lowestoft and Bury withstanding) league it is more convenient, for those inclined, to get to most away games even the midweek ones.
It was good of Dos & Co to thanks us for being there last night, cos I think he knows we would have been there top of the league or not.

Now, when we won 5 league games in the whole of that last Conf South season? Then it's bordering on mental illness.

I'm still being treated for that. Saw every game of the relegation season but fortunately the doctor recommend heavy drinking as a cure
