Who gets the Sutton Guardian, there are some interesting little takes on the managerial situation.
Mass has stated he wants the job 3 people have already put their name forward Hazel blames his inability to bring in experienced players for his failure

I reckon if Mass wants the job he needs to win on Sunday in which case he may well be given the freedom of Sutton Not only that I have agreed to sponsor the replay or next round, hows that for faith? Other than that 'Devonshire'

I had to admit, it would be interesting having an FA cup winner managing us! Although he really should grow his tash back. We like tashe'd managers

Alan Devonshire would be able to attract external investment into Sutton United Football Club.
We have twenty times more potential than H&RFC if we can get ourselves out of the current situation.
This appointment could well dictate the next 10+ years of football at Gander Green Lane.
Discuss those points if you wish!!

Thing is, it's not about what someone like Devonshire could attract, it's more about what WE have to attract someone like Devonshire.
Very interesting to hear Dacky has just quit his position at Grays though. That to me is a bit too much of a coincidence.
As for the JR/TR posts, waste of text. Their time has passed. And you should NEVER go back to an old manager anyway. Keith Blunt being number one prime example of that.....

Jim was sacked by Grays. We have had some interesting applications in addition to our own lines of thought though.

I'll look forward to finding out who they might be Devo - as I believe the 'Irons' still call him - would be okay I reckon. (Sorry Spiderbee!) Could he work wonders with the sort of budget we allow? Mind you, who can! Oh and I think I may well speak on behalf of others here when I say could we please not have Mr Dack.

I think the odd thing is that most of the 'big name' managers (Westley, Borg etc) have made big names on themselves on big budgets. It would be nice to have that but I think we will have to accept the fact that we will probably end up with a manager who has had lower level experience who sees Sutton as a step up the ladder.

Why sorry Amber? As you are aware, I know Dev pretty well. I guess the budget is the key as to who will arrive at GGL!

Only really from the Osterley youth poaching days (allegedly) Ultimately it comes down to budget. Our new man will have to be confident of his own ability to lure any future talent to GGL on a shoestring. Yes, I am beginning to think we may have to speculate in order to survive in this league. I cast my mind back to the most recent 'season in the sun' Conference year. Should we have done so then too?

And Rob was always going to name Mr Scola, even if Jerry's son is with Sutton. Made me smile.

Does Mr Scola run evening classes perhaps?
