I am not sure the club will gamble on inexperience, they did that with Hazel and it did not pay off, I note that Francis Vines is doing a steady if not world beating at Brasinstake. I have no inside knowledge and that's good because I can speculate on here, if it were me choosing it would have to be experience this time. I know budgets attract managers but the real kudos comes from doing a job on a low or average budget. I don't know what Dev's budget is at Hampton but surely its not that much above ours and if it is then its unsustainable. I reckon it would be a good tie up for both Devonshire and us, we still have a decent name in the game as he does, we are in the crap and if he could turn it around I think that would do him good too?
I don't think we can afford to gamble and go for an unproven manager, the risk is just too great.

I'd like a name - a former pro maybe. Then they may have some draw in getting players even with a small budget.

Ed,I thought you would like that one,but seriously he is very happy at Croydon,I would think that someone like Dave Harlow or Alan Devinshire in particuler would be good choices, good luck anyway.

Devonshire's the man, good contacts and a half decent track record.

Problem is, Devonshire is Hampton's manager still and thus currently unavailable!

After sunday give it to mass got the players working hard and going forward we still have honey and q to come into we are on the up good team performance Sunday From 2 games we have had 2 losses, sorry I know the performances have improved but the results haven't, is that really enough to become our manager? I would like to set my sights a bit higher. IF however we haven't got a new manager by Saturday he has another chance to prove why he should be the man for the job.

Sorry, don't want to criticise Mass after yesterday, but after his record at Leafe this would be a big gamble for a team at the bottom of the league. By coincidence, I was at the game at Walton Casuals when Leafe raised the white flag and Mass resigned - not a good indication that he can get a team to dig its way out of the poo that we're in.

Re Alan Devonshire. This is from a Middlesex Sports Editor I know. Wouldn't be right for me to talk to Alan directly! "Said last week he'd be staying at Hampton as they seem to have sorted out their mess now and will have a new board in place, with cash, by new year. Wouldn't be surprised if he changed his mind though as the ex-chairman was his close friend apparently."

I must sound like a broken record but we need a striker fullstop without one we won't score goals and we will get relegated even if Arsene Wenger took the job. Rose could manage the team if we had a goal scorer as simple as that!!!

I'm sure I saw him play in Larry Pritchard's testimonial at GGL, I remember Tony Parks (ex-Tottenham penalty saver) in goal but can't remember many others! Steve Bangs at left back.
