One of my recollections of the Spurs match was Barrie Wiliams substituting Mark Golley when part way through the match he decided to put himself about. He clattered into Hoddle a couple of times and Barrie decided to do the diplomatic thing to protect Spurs' valuable asset.

Would we get a crowd of over 5000 now, for a friendly? We'd get 4,000 odd for a friendly if any of the London Premiership sides played that strong a team at GGL these days, with the possible exception of Fulham and West Ham ;D I was at both the Larry Pritchard and the Tony Rains/Micky Stephens testimonials, the former being my first ever evening game. I remember the build up to that game days before the big day arrived. We even used to have Sutton v Tottenham games in the playground at Manor Park!

Why not let Steve the Youth manager take some short term control of the first team. He has the respect of the youth and reserves, he knows his stuff and i recon could realy help the first team.
Sutton will loose him if they dont push him on too

I remember both of those game, and the incident with the ball boy! I think another regular poster on here knows that story and has all the details. That'll be me then Bob. Was not a penalty for the Ball Boy (Colin). Rick Collier went to catch the ball and dropped it at his feet for an easy tap in. After the game Kevin Keegan asked Colin if he could keep the ball boy top he had been wearing. Colin was too scared to say no. Mr K then asked me to make sure it was given back to whoever looked after them. (That'll be me then) In the bar afterwards Mr K got up on a table or chair and made a speech about players like TR & MS and loyalty to clubs.
