read on the sports news today, another winding up to be heard in London tomorrow, this time over unpaid wages. Hereford seem to have got themselves in a financial mess.

Adjourned for 28 days. They still may opt to go into a CVA or administration

It's a sad state of affairs in the modern game when this sort of story isn't really news. I've lost track of clubs in the recent past who have got to this stage - some have survived but a minority of others have failed. In our league alone, Welling, Truro, Farnborough have all been there...

I know of at least 2 football league clubs that have been served with winding up petitions in the last couple of months (although they probably paid their debts).

Sorry if this seems pedantic, but could somebody please change the subject of this thread to Hereford United FC? We wouldn't be too chuffed if a Hereford fan started a thread about our club entiteld 'Sutton FC'.
I recall the HUFC chairman saying last year that the club may have to go part-time to save money. They didn't, and look what happened. These days there are too many non-League clubs with unsustainable wage bills.

The latest on HUFC is that they failed to meet today's 5pm deadline for settling their debts, and so face the real threat of expulsion from the Conference at this weekend's AGM. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27724302If they are kicked out (ending up back in the Southern League?) there should then be a reprieve for Chester. That would leave Conference North a club short. So we could see Hemel shunted sideways into the North with Hayes & Yeading staying up in the South.

Plenty of possibilities if Hereford go.Still believe Lowestoft should be in the North but would Chelmsford be moved?

Never seem to get when told that "Conference general manager Dennis Strudwick said earlier this week that there would be no extensions to Thursday's deadline", they were then giving an extension. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27737734This deadline passed at 1000hrs this morning.

Remember farnborough had a deadline off the Conf that was stretchier than a Durex
