Let's have a real go in the re-match , a cracking home tie against Lowestoft awaits the winner ...and just a idea ... As the club keeps the gate receipts from the original game at concord & don't have to pay concord Rangers FC expenses to come to us next Wednesday maybe have a 'pay what you want' entry fee? & get as many people we can cheering us on ....Let's take our 2nd chance seriously and come on you u's!!!

Seems, like the County FA all those years ago, the FA has opted for the second option taking into account the mitigation provided by Concord. Not sure the club sec being on holiday is mitigation (not at this level of football) but there you go.
Dos won't be pleased. Another game with uncompromising opposition; no doubt more cautions, let's hope no injuries.

One question: will this match be treated as a replay, i.e extra time and penalties if level after the 90?

Rule 16 (c) "However, where the club satisfies the National Game Board that the club (or any of its officers) did not know and could not reasonably have known, even had it made every reasonable enquiry (with the exercise of the utmost caution), that the player was ineligible, the club shall not be removed from the Competition but may still be subject to any other penalty. (e.g. fine, ordered to replay the match)." Interesting, seeing as they admitted that their Secretary knew. Just wishing to point something out ( but not be argumentative ), the Concord Secretary , from what I've seen in an earlier post on this thread, only knew about what had happened when he returned back from holiday, and "I believe" it was him who contacted the FA to find out if correct procedure had been followed regarding the "on loan player".

It is standard in FA competitions that to be eligible for a replay, a player must have been eligible for the original tie. (Not to be confused with being available after suspension).

Not the ideal outcome for us, but still better that we are still in the trophy. If we play anything like we did last Saturday, we'll be lined up to play Lowestoft in the next round. As we all know from previous experience, the FA doesn't always make the same decisions on the same things, but that's what we've been handed. I'm happy we're still in there to be honest. It could be just the bit of luck we needed to have a decent run in the competition.

I think my main problem with the decision is that we'll have yet another game to play in what is already a congested part of the season, and then another if we beat Concord, as the 2nd round is in January. I'm glad we have another chance at the FA Trophy of course, even if I think it's unfair on Lowestoft and ourselves that Concord weren't thrown out of the competition.

Not the ideal outcome for us, but still better that we are still in the trophy. Yep gives us another crack at them on our own patch now where I'm sure we'll be fired up. What happens to the result from two weeks ago now? Does it still count in our records or does it get expunged?

Glad its being played on a Wednesday too rather than a Monday. Anyone know why this is (not that I'm moaning about the decision) I thought Monday nights were our chosen midweek match night.
