Bearing in mind we're unlikely to have any postponed home games plus after Saturday some sides will have up to 3 games in hand over us and added to that it's by no means certain we'll win on Wednesday, talk of fixture congestion is a little premature!

According to the official site the game will now be played Monday 21st December as opposed to this coming Wednesday 16th. Grrr. Could just about have made the 16th fit into my Christmas travel plans, but this is going to cost me at least an extra hundred quid since the flight I booked for the 19th is nonrefundable. Really disappointed, thought this year was going to be nice and easy but don't dare rebook in case we get mucked around with the date any more.

According to the official site the game will now be played Monday 21st December as opposed to this coming Wednesday 16th. Although I'm sure there are good footballing/practical reasons for this, I think this is poor form by all concerned. The FA should not have unilaterally announced a date if the clubs were not happy with it or the club should have made it clear that the 16th was a provisional date at very least. I'm sure many of us dedicated supporters were frantically re-arranging their lives to try and fit around the 16th, only for it to suddenly change without warning. It's very rare that I say anything negative about the running of the club, which is almost unfalteringly excellent, but I've been left with the feeling (rightly or wrongly) that on this occasion the club didn't give a hoot about the supporters. I'm sure it's a blip in very extreme circumstances, but i'm still disappointed nevertheless.

Sorry, that's down to me, but when we learned late last night that the FA would actually consider a request to change the date it seemed to me it would cause more confusion to announce the uncertainty than just wait until morning when we would be informed of their decision.

Someone had better change the date of the fixture on the official website then before it causes more confusion.

I'm torn. Now it's on a Monday, I'll be able to see it. But there is a part of me that says (as did Dos) that we were well beaten on the day and it's only a technicality that has given us a second chance that we didn't deserve.

Why on earth would you be "torn"?
Bring 'em on and let's beat them.

Whilst we may have been well beaten on the day, we were beaten by a side that cheated, so in my opinion it's Concord who don't deserve a 2nd chance

You don't know me very well! It runs a bit deeper than that and it's a very personal thing Fortunately, the airline was surprisingly good at moving my flight for £30 so that's something!

Whilst we may have been well beaten on the day, we were beaten by a side that cheated, so in my opinion it's Concord who don't deserve a 2nd chance Sorry, but to say they cheated is ridiculous. The player had been registered with the league but in the absence of the club secretary, no-one knew he had to be separately registered with the FA to play in an FA competition. Cheating implies that they knew he shouldn't have been playing which is clearly not the case. In fact it appears that the omission was brought to the FA's attention by the club itself. IMO the correct decision would have been either to fine the club (they got 4 grand for winning) and let the result stand or chuck them out of the competition.

we were well beaten on the day and it's only a technicality that has given us a second chance that we didn't deserve. I don't quite agree with that analysis, Tony. We were only "well beaten" after Concord's second goal - which was scored by Jordan Cox, the player who wasn't registered to take part in that match. I do agree though that the FA's solution is a fudge. If we do get through at the second attempt it will feel as if we're returning to the party through a side door.

Cheating is indeed a very strong word for this incident. Poor admin by a club that doesn't have the resources of many of those at this level is not cheating.
As for letting the result stand that would have been in breach of the competition rules, so the FA has opted for the "vanilla" option available to them.
I thought I read that the 4k would not go to Concord whatever the outcome of the replay although I was on a Christmas do yesterday, so can't be sure of everything I may (or may not) have read.
