BBC have more about who's in www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44412402One of the Welsh sides is only 6 miles from Chester. But also Derry and County Wicklow...just as much of an exciting prospect as scottish sides. Our first match is the weekend of 8/9 Sept.

Does anyone know if it's an open draw each round, meaning, could we get any home ties? Or any of the Welsh or Irish teams? Or will it be a condition of entering that all games will be in Scotland?

Last season, the 2nd round rules were every non scottish side had to play a scottish side, and one home and 1 away. Meaning we have a 50% chance of being drawn away and we can't play any Welsh, NI or ROI sides. 3rd round was an open draw as per FA Cup. No idea if they are going to keep those rules this year though

Great news, and a great challenge for the club I think, and a nice reward for last season's hard work and excellent position. An honour to be asked to represent England in this I'd say.

I'm probably going to get this wrong but from what I can work out, the Highland teams involved are Cove Rangers, Formartine United, Inverurie Loco Works and and Fraserburgh. The first 3 of those are not far from Aberdeen, and Fraserburgh is a little further. The four from the Lowland league (Spartans, East Kilbride, BSC Glasgow and East Stirlingshire) are all in the Glasgow/Edinburgh corridor.
In SL league 2, most of the teams again are in that Glasgow/Edinburgh area except Annan Athletic (which is pretty much on the border) and Berwick which as we all know is actually in England in the south, and Elgin (Inverness way) and Peterhead (Aberdeen again)
SL 1 there's a few more in the Dundee area (Brechin, Forfar, Montrose and Arbroath) and then stuck out on a limb is Stranraer.
So the majority of those teams are reachable from Glasgow/Edinburgh/Aberdeen Airports. But then there are a few like Elgin and Stranraer which will be a bit more of a challenge! And Fraserburgh as the Daily Mail reported is a 10 hour drive!
Of course we could end up doing a New Saints and get drawn at home every match....
I never thought I'd see the day where we'd be taking an interest in Scottish football as potential opponents to Sutton United. Crazy times.

There is a fully functioning airport at Inverness. As it would be close to home I would love to see an away fixture against The New Saints - they are in the Champions League again (but perhaps not for too long!)

Sorry but we need to keep focused on the league then fa cup then trophy in that order; let NL clubs with bigger squads take part; I fear this will come back to bite us in second half of the season if still in the thing! are we that desperate to earn a few quid!

Dos has led us to Europe (well close enough) I wonder if we can get a pub named after him like Sean Dyche. If Liverpool and co can deal with European football why can’t we....
I’m looking forward to it

Could end up playing a serious chunk of our league season on Tuesday nights if we do half decently in 3 comps. I get the fan excitement but really don’t see the attraction from a playing perspective.

I am currently in the (very) North of Scotland doing a walk from John O'Groats to Land's End, and very excited by this. I can't get enough of cup football, and the chance to actually win a trophy again. It does seem odd that I might have finished and got home just in time for my first game of the season to be close to where I am actually typing this. My first game was an Anglo-Italian cup match, and sparked the reason why I am still here 40 odd years later. I would love to think there are 8 year olds waiting to be hooked in the same way I was with a new trophy such as this opportunity. We should embrace it, spread the club's fanbase further still, both locally and across the country, and establish the community and financial model that ensures the long term future of this club.
