So we start this campaign at one of our local rivals which of course will add a bit more spice to the tie. It won't go to extra time if scores are level as a replay date has been agreed. A familiar surface for our players although we seem to prefer playing on grass ! I'm hoping we play our fast passing, ball to feet game which is certainly more enjoyable to watch. However it's not necessarily how we play but can we get a result and progress. Bromley have brought in some new players and they are looking to improve on a poor run.

I will be going to this. Taking my son too and for both of us our first visit to Hayes Lane. Short journey as well.
Looking forward to it. Hopefully be a cracking cup tie.

Going to Bromley North adds 30 minutes to the journey. No matter, I'm sure I'll work it out. I do plan routes for a living More of a question of where do the Sutton fans go beforehand.

I must say this at the start of every Trophy campaign but I’d love us to have a long run in this competition - frustratingly we’ve lost in the 3rd Round in each of the last three seasons and all to teams beginning with ‘B’!! Bromley of course reached last season’s final.
I’d imagine Cloughie will be back for this one and with Dos saying Beckwith is pretty much fit again I wonder if this causes a selection headache what with the form of Pearce. With Dundo heading back to Hampton for the season does this mean an early recall for Ayunga from his loan spell at Havant 🤔.
Looking forward to this one - really hoping we’ll be in the hat on Monday.

Let's get a draw out of this and take hem back to the Lane.

I usually cycle there or get the 119 bus which goes right past the ground, but yes Bromley South is indeed better and the Wetherspoons pub opposite is probably where you'll find many Sutton fans

Let's get a draw out of this and take hem back to the Lane. No let's win it first time out as we've got a lot of games coming up in a short period of time, and I'm sure none of us want to play Bromley any more than is necessary!

if Jonah doesn’t return early I do hope we don’t allow Havant to cup tie him, he could make the difference if we make it past saturday

I'm looking forward to being in the pitiful space they call the away "end". With rain currently being predicted for Saturday afternoon, let's hope they don't play the trick they did last time and prevent us from standing undercover.

We did something rather similar with Hemel a few years ago, think we played them 3 times in 8 days. I imagine Jamie Butler would have played in those against us

Wasn't last years game on one of the hottest August days of the year, or am I remembering it wrong? Easty scored the only goal and the heat was so intense the rubber on the artificial pitch smelled like it was on fire.
You're right though, there was no cover from the extreme weather!

If you stand at the back there's a narrow bit of cover you can cower under. Last time I did it stop stop myself catching fire, this time it will be to prevent wet rot.
