The Quarter Final of the Women's World Cup, the Lionesses against Norway, will be shown live on TV in the club this Thursday. Kick-off is at 8.00pm and the bar will be open from 7.30. All welcome.

That's a shame. I was hoping for some kjøttboller with creamy gravy and lingonberries..

Not sure lachrymation works as a marinade, but each to their own.

I spoke to a German called Herr Ing who said he would be a sour kraut if England beat Norway.

So the Lionesses won 3-0, is women's football actually any good?
That is not an opinion before I get jumped on, its simply a question.

If I can put it this way... if you haven't been watching the games so far then you're missing out.

I was using the impersonal form of "you", just in case it wasn't clear from the context.

I watched the Euros two years ago where England flattered to deceive before being outplayed by the Dutch in the sf.
They were a bit long ball in that tournament. Phil Neville has installed a passing game rather much like Southgate and the same frailties exist at the back especially through the middle, although Houghton is generally outstanding.
They're good going forward though and right back, Lucy Bronze, is brilliant.
The women's game is improving thanks to better funding and better coaching and there have been some very good matches in this wc.
Not as quick as the men's game obviously but still very watchable in the most part. Let's face it some men's wc matches can be dull so expect the women's to have a few like that although maybe not now in the knockout stages.

Maybe if you're used to watching men's Premier League football week in week out it's not so good but watching the National League I think it's an improvement.
