Looking forward to Saturday. Last away trip didn’t make it for reasons out of our control (Fylde). Should be a good watch - Louis back plus 2 weeks break hopefully will have done the lads some good. Torquay 1 SU 2 Legend!

Fantastic. Totally deserved. Louis was different class but what a team performance. The ref got pretty much everything wrong and fortunately he got their late penalty claim wrong too, happy with that one!! Good noise from us. So happy.

Luck may have gone against us earlier this season but it certainly went for us in the 75th minute today when the ref decided that a Sutton foul had occurred just outside the area when most in the ground saw it as inside. The Torquay free kick was cleared for a corner that came to nothing. But that let-off shouldn't detract from a solid Sutton performance that earned us our first league win since September and a fourth consecutive victory at Plainmoor (if you include the 90s FA Cup win). The locals must be sick of the sight of us.
Nik Tzanev made his debut in the Sutton goal, and having a six-and-a-half foot keeper unsurprisingly helped us deal with aerial threats. There was also a welcome return for Louis John who had an assured game at centre back. Ben Wyatt, in only his second league start for us, gave an energetic display at left back.
The in-form home side came close to scoring twice in the opening ten minutes, but it was Sutton who drew first blood, David Ajiboye breaking through the middle and calmly shooting past their keeper. A poor piece of play from Kenny Davis helped Torquay to equalise, as possession was lost from a free kick and their right back, in acres of space, shot across Tzanev. Harry had a good chance to get our second just before half-time but couldn't quite bring the ball under control.
Omar Bugiel had a header tipped over early in the second half, but it was Harry who bagged the winner, getting behind the home defence and slotting home from an angle. Torquay poured forward in the closing stages,Tzanev getting down well to save a shot from Manny Duku. We had to endure six nerve-jangling minutes of stoppage time but then the three points were secured, lifting us to 21st. That's been a long time coming.

No clean sheet for the new keeper. Misrerable sod, he had a great game, made a top save right at the end.

Certainly a pleasant feeling to get the win, this wasn't at home to a bottom team this was away to a side challenging for top spot. Barrow who were lucky against us hit top spot today, and it shows if we can put our chances away and defend well we are probably as good as any top 6 side in this division.
2 goals today in 1 match as many as we have managed in the previous 7, top drawer defending. just the one error for the goal, everyone played well, Louis looked like he had never been away. All in all the perfect away performance from a team that should be nearer the top than bottom of the table.
In football and in life you need 3 things to succeed, Ability / Belief and a tad of Luck - We had them all today and got a very well deserved and hard thought win.
WELL DONE LADS!

Excellent result.I was really disappointed when I decided to turn round but I had to make my mind up.Disappointment tempered later as I went to Bromsgrove instead to watch my other club,Worcester City, and they won 9-0!
