We scored 3 proper goals, they scored 2 from deflections, so who was the better side today?

I have been away in Cornwall for the last two wonderful results. Looking forward very much to next Wednesdays' rematch v Woking.

Would have capped off 2019 quite nicely if Dundo had scored at the death!
With our current form its a bit of a shame we're out of the FA Trophy but at least the team get a well earned rest after Chesterfield away next Saturday.
Other games at the bottom end of the table all going our way at the moment as well.

I never like to pass comment on commentators and commentaries but come on OHHAHH - The only place worth listening to commentators and commentary is BBC RADIO & SUFCtv.

Brilliant effort from all concerned. A complete turnaround over last 7 games, and no less than fully deserved. In the darkest hours this teams work/team ethic never faltered and the results now coming are fully warranted. The arrival of Louis and Nick were masterstrokes by the management team and both have made a massive difference. Amazing transformation in the team's confidence, as a result of Louis and Nick improving the defence particularly against the aerial threat, and Tommy Wright returning to full sharpness. I did wonder if the absence of Omar at the birth of his child this morning might be a critical blow. Not at all. Aaron stepped in and while he does not carry the goal threat that Omar has provided in the last two matches, Aaron was excellent at winning critical headers. After about 5 minutes the penny dropped for the other forwards and they began to make the runs in anticipation of the header being won. U's first goal came from a terrific piece of work from David, who chased a pass to the Rec side touchline, and just kept it in. Yeovil made the mistake of not playing to the flag or whistle but their sole covering defender was still favourite to reach the ball before David shoulder-charged him off it. Then his low cross was perfect and Harry fired it in. The lead lasted 2 minutes. 2 Sutton defenders collided both going for a headed clearance and Murphy's mis-hit of the resulting loose ball just beat the wrong footed keeper. Yeovil took the lead with a fluke as well. A low shot - heading wide - hit the leg of an attacker or Louis as both stretched for it and looped up over Nick. Sutton don't wilt from such setbacks this month, they continued to be the better side and levelled when Ben Goodliffe went forward for a free kick. It was Yeovil's turn for a defensive muddle, the ball fell to Ben's feet and he slotted his first goal for the club. Matt has said a change in our luck would also help - I think he would agree it had in the opening minute after the restart. U's gave the ball away carelessly, A Yeovil striker was clean through with Nick to beat. The ball passed Nick twice: in front of him to hit the inside of the far post then behind him on the rebound. Kenny began the winning counter attack with a superb long pass which set Tommy (thanks for correction KBB) and David against one defender and the keeper. Tommy challenged in the air, the ball broke forward behind the keeper leaving David to roll it into an empty goal. A final welcome contrast to earlier in the season was the confident manner in which U's saw out the remaining half hour. We did not sit back - though we did not attack rashly. There was no blatant time wasting and a 4th goal for Sutton looked as likely as an equaliser.

Now 7 points off the relegation places but more importantly just 5 points off the play offs. We can compete with the best of them although our squad does not have the depth at present. If we have luck with injuries the sky is the limit ! Crowds are starting to improve again which is good to see.

It was a fun game to watch and commentate on.
And having 2000 + inside the old ground is brilliant - it felt busy.
Would be great if we could always reach the 2000 attendance for home games (I am aware there was only PL games today - so maybe some Championship/LG 1/LG 2 floaters).
A good day all round and I purchased an AMBER 500 ticket (if i win tea and custard cream biscuits on me at the final home game of the season).

Excellent three points!. Gifting them the equaliser and the second could've easily knocked the stuffing out of a side but the boys kept plugging away.
We was tenacious and earned those three points even on a day where as Harry said it wasn't out best display. That's promising and it's now about continuing the form.
As mentioned the loan signings have made a difference and credit to Matt for rethinking his policy on loan moves.

What a week! Wrexham, Woking and Yeovil, all shot down!
An unbelievable end to a glorious decade.

First off, we have to acknowledge what a great game of football this was. It was a lucky pick by BT Sport!
I thought Yeovil were probably the best side we've met this season, certainly improved since they beat us 1-0 at their place in early September. They played a pressing game, which yielded them two rather scruffy goals. But that left them vulnerable to counter-attacks, which is how two of our goals came about. For the first, David Ajiboye brilliantly kept the ball in play down the left before crossing for Harry to score his twelfth goal of the season. Our third saw Kenny Davis clear to Tommy Wright, who held off a handballing defender and found David who calmly tapped into an empty net. In between, Ben Goodliffe scored his first goal for the club after a Rob Milsom free kick was played across to him.
It's a little unfortunate that the four clubs we initially overtook to climb to 12th all later either won or drew to shunt as back to 16th. But we're now seven points above the drop zone and only five off the play-offs. And we're top of the form table. 😊

Great summing up Pinewalker apart from the winning goal which heavily involved Tommy Wright challenging the defender to set the ball free for David.
