Great summing up Pinewalker apart from the winning goal which heavily involved Tommy Wright challenging the defender to set the ball free for David. Kbb Thanks KBB, I have corrected it in the original!

So, Sutton win again against the side in second place in the League. Joint top other than goal difference actually. Now unbeaten in seven and up to 12th, albeit having played a game more. Anyone still want Matt Gray out? They will pop up when we lose again. And they will get the same reaction they got from me earlier. I'm just happy that possibly the team performance of the season took place against the best side I've seen us play in the league. And we got all 3 points. Undefeated in December. Gray must get Manager of the month. But there still be some who want him sacked. Sod them. We're on the up.

Great result again , just a shame that some people on this forum seem to think that they are so superior than those that question our managers position when we were in free fall . I was one of those and as I have readily said before on this forum I am delighted to have been proven wrong . I have always liked MG , he seems genuinely honest and passionate about his role and our club , but when things were not going well I think it was a fair point at that time to question his lack of experience . Changes have been made on the playing field and I expect he has learnt a hell of a lot more by having a bad run than if things had gone smoothly all season .
So how about the criticism of those like me who had serious doubts about him comes to an end ? After all we all want the best for our club and as such should all stick together rather than splinter into factions of who knows best or who said this or that .
Finally , even if we were to lose some matches I would still not want him out . So , anybody who wishes to continue to criticise those who had doubts and said so publicly - sod you too . Happy to meet in person to discuss further if required .

Those who have been critical on here and have gone silent since we've started doing well. That's a different beast. As you seem to have taken umbrage at what I said, you fall into the former. Do you still have an issue with that?

Finally saw my first win of the season, though it was confined to the box! Thought we were ok and got better as the game progressed. Not at our best defensively all over the pitch (dare say tiredness played a part in that) and got that little bit of luck we needed. Marvellous 3 points. Double Woking and we’d have won as many as we’ve lost, gone into positive goal difference and would have put ourselves right in the mix. Fingers crossed we can do just that in a few days time.

First off, we have to acknowledge what a great game of football this was. It was a lucky pick by BT Sport! I thought Yeovil were probably the best side we've met this season, certainly improved since they beat us 1-0 at their place in early September. They played a pressing game, which yielded them two rather scruffy goals. But that left them vulnerable to counter-attacks, which is how two of our goals came about. For the first, David Ajiboye brilliantly kept the ball in play down the left before crossing for Harry to score his twelfth goal of the season. Our third saw Kenny Davis clear to Tommy Wright, who held off a handballing defender and found David who calmly tapped into an empty net. In between, Ben Goodliffe scored his first goal for the club after a Rob Milsom free kick was played across to him. It's a little unfortunate that the four clubs we initially overtook to climb to 12th all later either won or drew to shunt as back to 16th. But we're now seven points above the drop zone and only five off the play-offs. And we're top of the form table. 😊 Great game in terms of entertainment and a very good performance all things considered, but not to get too carried away I thought yeovil were a fairly 'solid' side in the solihull mould. Ie well organised and strong with a handy long throw (also like solihull always looking for that extra 5 yards). I personally thought several sides we've seen here were much better, but there is very little between sides 1-24 this season and with 2 games in 48 hours today was always going to be a scrap. Referee was absolutely quality today, let the game flow and got all the important decisions right. Yeovil could easily have moaned their way to victory and a weaker ref would have incorrectly given a foul against David adjiboye for the first goal

My point is that we all have different opinions about some aspects of the club , incidents in matches , player performances etc etc . We will never all agree on everything all the time which is why forums such as this are a great place to discuss things . My post was aimed at those , like you , who had taken a swipe at anybody who had dared to suggest a change of manager was required when things were not going so well . I would suggest that if you have “ an issue with that “ then stop posting comments such as “sod them “ which can cause offence . Perhaps those that have “gone silent since we’ve started doing well “ have done so because unlike me they do not want to engage with those that do not accept their opinions . Nobody can be right all the time , although my wife would probably not agree with that particular statement !

GGL:
‘Happy to meet in person to discuss further if required.’
I’m not getting involved in any back and forth but GGL your line above made me chuckle.
It’s something Tony Soprano would have said in THE SOPRANOS!
(Love the name BTW - GGL)!

Hi Sol, glad to have made somebody happy ! As for the Sopranos , what a great series that is . Have seen it from start to finish twice and might just make it a New Year resolution to watch it again . One very minor complaint about the very ending though , was Tony about to be wasted in the restaurant ? I don’t like loose endings and have always assumed the worse for him , how about you ?

I too have watched it from start to end 2/3 times. I remember when it first aired on Channel 4 around 11pm, I would set my video recorder and watch and wait for the next episode a week later! I thought they left it open for another season but now that James G has passed away I suppose it’s an ending that’s left to your imagination. I hope he survived and carried on in his own indomitable way...

Like GGL I was one of the ones who questioned Matt’s experience and capability at this level. I too am delighted in the upturn in our fortunes and said then and I’ll say again now that football is all about results - our current form is truly fabulous and I am thrilled - I thought our defending at Woking particularly was outstanding - but our performances at the time really were not good enough hence my criticism and desire for change.
I am prepared to admit I was wrong and certainly concede now that ditching Matt at that point would have been too early. Moreover I agree that even if we go on another losing streak then A change is now out odd the question. .
