I rarely purchase The Times newspaper, not least because it costs £2 if you purchase it from a shops' shelf.
But I happened to purchase todays'issue and there is a very extensive article printed today by Martyn Ziegler, Chief Sports Reporter. It runs on pages 66, 67 and 68.
It features the words of Richard Masters, the chief executive of the Premier Laeague . His angle is that thousands of spectators are to be allowed into concert venues before Christmas, but not football stadiums. A very interesting detailed read.

That is a fair point. It is hard to explain how it is safe for hundreds of people to spend hours in an enclosed auditorium (albeit socially distanced) but not in an open air stadium with the same precautions. The argument about football fans spreading the virus through shouting (i.e. airborne droplets) won't really wash because people also cheer and shout at gigs, don't they?
I've also heard the argument that football clubs can still make money when fans aren't physically in the ground whereas the music, comedy and theatre industries can't. But that's less true the further you get down the pyramid, isn't it? Those arguing about money coming in through TV deals and sponsorship don't know much about what it's like at Step 2, where you don't get TV games at all and who's going to sponsor a team if nobody is going to see their ads?! You could just as easily argue that, for instance, a musician who can't make money from live gigs could sell recordings (TV, advertising, cinema, public service films etc all want music!) or that they'd make at least a bit of money through selling access passes to live streams of their concerts just as we're doing with football (and ditto stand up comedians, etc...and actually, for the record, I don't think it's realistic to expect them to make a living this way but the same goes for football).
It all seems much of a muchness to me.

So it's all up to Stockport on 12 December then? Before that - you could change your name to Mr Nobody. It quite clearly says on match announcements and ground posters that "Nobody will be allowed in".
I counted the numbers in the stand yesterday. Excluding players and manager, also excluding those in yellow vests and ball-boys there were 46 people in the seats last night. Some of those will have been SUFC Directors and their visiting counterparts, but at least 26 must have been Mr Nobodys. There was even a Nobody in my seat! Cheek!

Someone to manage the comms, another on camera and another on commentary or am I being as ignorant as you seem to be on what is required to run a mtachday under Covid-19 Protocols?

As opposed to say, repeatedly insinuating, without any valid basis, that SUFC admitted people into the ground who had no business being there?

Someone to manage the comms, another on camera and another on commentary or am I being as ignorant as you seem to be on what is required to run a mtachday under Covid-19 Protocols? Why the reluctance to answer perfectly simple, fair and reasonable questions about it then ? Here's one.How many stewards are Sutton United using/needing/employing on these matchdays? Thankyou very much. We’re in it together! Then why don't you phone the club or email Bruce to ask them. There is no obligation for the club to explain who is in the ground on matchdays. In the other streams I've seen from the away games, the numbers within the ground don't look dissimilar. I'm sure the club would much prefer to spend their time explaining to you why there are people there and giving you a full breakdown of who they are, what they do, where they live, what they've eaten over the last 4 weeks and their individual shoe sizes, rather than getting on with the business of keeping the club running, which they do on a voluntary basis week in week out and now under much more restricted condition. I'm sure you'd also be happy to tell us exactly how much you've been putting into the club financially since lockdown, with exact details of payments, and also tell us your understanding of who and what are needed to run the club on matchdays as it seems you have a better understanding of all of the complex protocols in place needed to safely run a football match. I'm going to stick to my position that I'm totally trusting that the club is literally following those protocols to the letter. There is no reason not to have that position. Listening to a troll on here who constantly comes on and posts about how they are accusing of the club lying about attendance figures (and hence accusing the club they "support" of fraudulent activity in a public space) isn't going to sway my position or anyone else who is a Sutton supporter.

AND I gave him his cue 17 hours ago!
That's a poor response time.

That's a sensible idea from Andy K. Why not just email Bruce and ask him? I'm sure he'll tell you. Then you will know. And, if you like, you can come here and tell us why it's not right. And then we can suggest that maybe it's Bruce you should tell that to?
Any fault with that?
