Also a lot will depend upon what tier we are in after lockdown. Highly likely Sutton will be tier 2 Sutton may be, but we will be part of London. If the combination of the other 31 boroughs that will decide what Tier Sutton is in. Whilst as a borough we're doing pretty well, places like Redbridge and Havering currently have incidence rates which are more in line with the North West.

So Home to Solihull Moors on 5th December is our possible first spectator match.

There's an implicit admission here that banning all paying spectators at levels above non-League Step 3 was going too far.
The position of away fans seems unclear, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a 'home fans only' rule, initially at least. Our first away game after 2 December is Stockport, which would normally attract a 2,000+ crowd, but is likely to be in a Tier 3 area anyway (so no fans at all).

To add to the above:My friend in Scotland went to see Caley Thistle on Saturday play Raith. Caley were allowing 300 spectators in who were drawn from season ticket holders only. They were all given group times to arrive at the ground starting from 14.15. Upon arrival they were all scanned and given certain areas to sit making sure that segregation was observed. All in all it worked out ok, a pity something like this couldn’t happen here. Here’s hoping🙏

All gets a bit messy if some clubs are allowed fans and others aren’t. Nightmare for the administrators!

Still too many questions for me a) What will the league's position be on this? b) What will the various clubs position be on this c) How does this affect government support especially regarding clubs in Tier 3 compared to other tiers d) As DaveF hinted at earlier, will clubs have appropriate protocols to meet the restrictions (and will advice change or be the same from the FA) e) Will it be for home fans only (in terms of travel between Tiers, which already needs clarification) f) Will this apply to Wrexham (who of course are in Wales and therefore have different regulations) g) Will Boreham Wood adopt Tier 3 even if the region is in Tier 1 as they have no fans anyway!
It's a sign in the right direction, but I think if we're already assuming that we are going to be back in the ground for the Solihull game, I'd manage your expectations because you may end up being disappointed, although if all the hurdles were passed and it was down to our club to make sure we meet the requirements, I fully expect them to do it as best they can.

My first reaction was - good news but 2000 seems a bit many? I dont understand how we can go from not allowing anyone in to suddenly that figure when cases are actually rising in Sutton for the first time in months! I would come back if say 1000 are allowed but might give the first game a miss to be honest if 2000 are allowed in. It’s all rather strange. It doesn’t makes sense! Why just 4000 in a stadium that holds more than 50000 and then allow 2000 in a stadium that holds 4000! Surely it’s about social distance?

I am not going to jump in until I have heard the full details, but on the face of it, it appears a absolutely crazy illogical decision. 2000 in GGL would mean little if any Social distancing, on todays cases at least 3 people in the ground with COVID.
I know it was pointed out to me by AndyK that if the rules are being followed then there isn't an argument, but surely safety of people is paramount?

Clubs already have different rules about capacity, number of away fans, segregation etc. Your points are completely different to some clubs being allowed to have their fans in supporting the team and taking cash, and other allowed none at all. Generally clubs at this level can host as many fans as want to turn up bar the odd exception. Maybe this inequality is just one we have to accept for the greater good of having some fans somewhere back in enjoying football.

There’s plenty of room at GGL for 2000 spectators (if it’s not raining). We know full well that we can get near 7000 spectators at our place if we were allowed (Dos has stated tonight that Havant have a capacity of 6000 in their ground!). But as Dave says it’s likely to be a lower amount anyway. As long as 5 year season ticket holders get preference then that’s fine 😜
