I have long thought that the real test of this team would come when the unbeaten run inevitably comes to an end. Another defeat at Altrincham would be tough and could send us into a downward spiral. However, I truly believe that these boys have the character to start another unbeaten run that would end in promotion. Just need to start scoring again, as defensively we still look pretty solid.

For what it's worth, last night's result puts Torquay 2nd in the form table and drops us to 12th. Our next three opponents are all below us in that table. Altrincham are only just below, but Eastleigh and Barnet occupy the bottom two places.

At least Davis, Browne and Randall are all in light training again - Randall’s a big miss at the moment I think.
I wonder if Matt will consider shuffling the pack with our attackers for this weekend - give Wilson and Sho-Silva a crack maybe. The lack of goals at present is a concern.

You would imagine Wilson for certain will come strongly into consideration. He’s looked very sharp on every occasion. Of course he has had fitness issue himself so may not be deemed ready to start.

In practical terms, none at all. But if the powers that be found out, the club would've been in a lot of trouble. The problem is, if you'd done that, and then another passer-by saw you and said "hang on, how's he in there? Can I come in too?" then how would it be fair to say no? They'd have acres of space too, right? And then a third person... Where do you stop? Best keep that line where it is, since it's perfectly clear. I honestly do see where you're coming from and agree it wouldn't have hurt anyone on its own but the thing is every action is part of a bigger picture. Hopefully it won't be too long now before we can go back in. That's a very nice reply if i may say so.Thankyou for posting it.

That was tough to take last night..
We had our moments but maybe not enough of them.
Impressed with Asa Hall the Torquay Captain and goal scorer.
Kenny D should hopefully be ready for the weekend and why not young Ben Wyatt left side of midfield?
Had a chat with Donovan Wilson post match and he told me he was just about to shoot and he was fouled - and he had the look that he would have scored - he ozzes that confidence.

I listened to your commentary on Radio Devon. I thought you did a very good job of remaining impartial (with your BBC hat on), while your co-commentator clearly struggled to control his Torquay allegiances! Well done.

Did anyone get a clear sense of what the SUFC live stream issues were during the match?
I do understand that this is being done on a volunteer basis which is, in itself, a great thing. But, as the club are charging for this, I am beginning to think we need to offer a slightly more reliable service. As does pretty much everyone on the Torquay fans forum.

TBH: I think the club is lucky to have any sought of media team left after the treatment they received last night. Yes the output was shambolic but that was not the fault of young amateurs trying to do their best on cr*p resources, whether that is the stream or the interviews.
That team of volunteers have made the club tens if not into the hundred of thousands of pounds this season with nothing in return. I don't see why they should turn up for nothing and get abuse they don't deserve it.
A proper media service takes a lot of effort and a lot of work, unfortunately like a good referee when its done right no one notices it. Last night the stream was lost because it relies on 4g, there is no internet on that side of the ground, no money has gone into providing a proper landline system providing a more robust connection. When it comes to interviews, many will have no idea of how they were done with Dos, how many were pulled or did not go live or were edited to get the product. When I say a lot of effort went into getting the service to the level it was in 2017 I mean a lot, so much so that it was actually impinging on jobs and income.
The club can choose not to have a professional setup, and fall across the line to either EFL football or getting crowds back, that is their choice, but please don't have a go at these kids who do their best for you.

Fair do's. No finger pointed at the volunteers at all. Does look like a question for the club, though.

I suspect the cost of provisioning telecoms to that side of the ground ain't cheap. I doubt there is a a connection point anywhere near there and the shortest route is probably across the pitch which would have meant digging up the 3g. Either that or a point from GGL entrance to rec which would require digging up a public footway or running from nearest pole which in itself may be classed as a public h&s issue. Both would require planning position.
Regarding the i/v. I am no tech expert but how is it that Ade can film an interview using a mobile phone but you describe problems with doing them? Is it because the away grounds tech is better?
All of these things were probably considered unnecessary because there was no live streaming before Covid while the EFL was a distant dream even the season we finished third.
I am not sure anyone from Sutton is blaming SUFCTV for the technical glitches but if you're going to interview anybody about anything it is advisable to do have done your homework prior to the event. I am afraid some of the interviews portray a total disregard for such preparation. And that is unfair on the interviewee.

Then how about broadcasting & filming from the other side of the ground whilst we have no crowds.

Just to reiterate, I do think this is a real issue for the club.
The club are charging to supply a particular product. If that product is substandard (or fails to work) it refelects badly on the club.
I do undertand that there's no absolute standard set for live stream but rule of thumb would suggest that what our club are selling isn't quite what it ought to be.
Frankly, if we can't do it properly we shouldn't be selling it.
