VAR has just ruled it out for OFFSIDE! Great performance today, held our nerve up playing uphill in the first half and turned the screw in the second, perfect away performance. Just reading some of the comments in the Notts Co thread from just 11 days ago, one from a Torquay fan telling us to enjoy the playoffs, a few Sutton Fans throwing in the towel. And here we are maybe just 1 win away from the title. I am going to watch Stockport vs Torquay tomorrow, popcorn in hand, I have always thought what a lovely club Stockport County are

Why would Hartlepool play an under strength team? They will still want to beat us. Exactly. Even if Stockport win tomorrow they could still lose at Yeovil on the final day. (I'm assuming they'll thrash Woking in between.😁) Hartlepool could finish 3rd by winning their last two games (after us they have Weymouth at home). A really poor finish to the season for Torquay could even allow Pools to snatch 2nd place.

Out of interest, has any non-league manager ever taken a club to the Football League for the first time in their history in their first ever season as a professional manager? If it's never been done before, that would be quite the achievement if it ever happened, and arguably the most impressive debut non-league managerial feat since Chris Wilder bagged 9th tier Alfreton Town the quadruple in 2001/2. This is a purely hypothetical question, obviously. This is Matt's second season isn't it ?

A colleague at work (who supports Torquay as his second team) Swindon is his first (unlucky sod) has text me to say he reckons Hartlepool will play a weakened side next week as they’ll now concentrate on the play offs! Suits me. He’s also conceded the title to us! Well he is a Swindon supporter so hasn’t much confidence in any teams he follows at the moment! 🙂🙂 Woking put a weakened side against us and gave us a scare and so did Maidenhead and held out for 67 mins. However doubtful it would be that Hartlepool would put out a weakened side, we still have to beat the team.

Is it only me who wants a draw today between Torquay and Stockport? Draw and Stockport can't win the league.
Because (and I don't want to be a prophet of doom here) Sutton could lose against Hartlepool and Barnet.

If we do lose both games then Torquay are surely favourites to win the title, so no - a Stockport win for me, then we have to do whatever we have to do.

Exactly this. 2 losses and we surely won't be finishing top, whatever the result today. A Stockport win means we need 3 points from two games for Torquay to be unable to catch us. A draw would increase that to 4 points. 100% wanting a Stockport win.

Worth pointing out that yesterday's win saw us reach 81 points, eclipsing our previous highest points total at this level i.e. 79 points in the 2017/18 season. Obviously that was a full 46 game season, whereas this season will see us play just 42, making the new record even more impressive.

I think maybe it is only you I'd rather it was us who stopped anyone else winning the league, an easier task if Stockport win today
