This could turn out to be one of the biggest games in Sutton's history. Hartlepool are a very strong team and have all to play for to try and get 3rd place in the table.
We will know Torquay's position before we play .

Form wise, we certainly rank higher, with Hartlepool losing 2 of their last 3 games. To win any league you need to be consistent home and away. Looking at the 3rd and 4th place teams, that seems to be their undoing. Stockport were stronger away from home than at home, where 10 draws in 20 home matches knocked them out of contention. Hartlepool are up there based more on their home form where they have got 42 out of a possible 60 (only just behind Solihull and U's with the best home record in the league).
This is one of those games of course that won't specifically go "to form" and with the added pressure for both sides, it will probably be more who can handle the pressure better. Also we can't discount the partisan crowd that will be in the ground in having a positive effect for the home team. And then there are all those other random factors that could have an effect e.g. Challinor is now heavily linked with the Tranmere job, and it could be a distraction, the windy conditions predicted for Sunday etc.
Del is right - this is one of the biggest games in our history. I'll stick my neck out and say it's the biggest. More than the FA Cup games, because this is a culmination of an entire season played in very difficult conditions and going into the last 2 matches we're in such a strong position to achieve a status we've never had.
If Barnet can do us a favour (unlikely, but not impossible) then we could go into that game knowing that 3 points will give us the title at the point where the fans are back for the first time. It has fairytale written all over it, and as we all know, we've had fairytales before at this wonderful club.
I don't know about the rest of you but this has seemed to have been one of the longest weeks in my life!

Yes, it's felt like a long wait and, I confess, I feel nervous already. Not because I don't think we have the beating of them but because of the sheer size of the game. Still, that's what it's all for.
Sadly, I won't be able to be at the match due to BT moving it to the Sunday when I have a, long pre-booked, restaurant lunch and afternoon gallery visit with my girlfriend (on the south coast). In fact I won't even be able to follow the commnentary or the score.
I'll just have to put it out of my mind until I 'surface'. Wish me luck with that. Enjoy the ride, everyone, even if it's a scary one. We've come a long way!

Form may indeed have little bearing on this fixture, but we can perhaps take confidence from having only lost once to Hartlepool in the seven previous meetings, that defeat of course being 1-0 at Victoria Park in January this year. All three previous encounters at GGL ended as draws. But there's more at stake this time.
It sounds as if Matt has a fully fit squad, with Harry back in training after missing last weekend's win at Maidenhead.

Jurgan Klopp likened Liverpool’s last few games to cup fixtures having to win each of them. Fortunately we are not in that position as we can afford a draw but in a way we are in a position similar to finishing second in the league and going into the play offs.
We know we have two games the first at home and then a second away from home. Win both and we take the league spot.

Here we go.....
Can’t wait and I’m not even going to be in attendance.
Tomorrow (Saturday 5pm) is my first port of call and then all systems go.
Prediction Sunday morning. (Look out it’s going to be spot on).

Its certainly been a long week, its the biggest match we have ever played as far as I am concerned. I think Matt will have the boys ready for this one, we don't need to win it, but Hartlepool do if they want to go straight into the semi finals of the playoffs. I would normally say go at them etc etc, but I think a patient game and hit them on the break might do us well. Am I nervous? Only when I think about

The biggest match thus far. Next Saturday has the potential to be even bigger.
Although I truly hope that Barnet will nick an unlikely point at Torquay and Sutton win on Sunday.

Would I take a draw if offered now? Almost certainly despite the possibility of another long week and nervous last day!!

Even going in at half time nil nil, having settled into our game. Then come out stronger following a Matt team talk to incrementally go on the attack to nick a goal. Predicting a tight game with us winning 1-0. Careful, cautious and winning. Its certainly been a long week, its the biggest match we have ever played as far as I am concerned. So in about 5 mins, I would think that all Sutton fans will become Barnet fans, in the hope they don’t get beaten by Torquay, so we can win the league tomorrow. It’s a long shot, but in this crazy season, anything is possible 🤞
