As Boreham Wood picked up 5 yellow cards we have gone top of the Fair Play League- though technically Dover are top as they’ve only played 15 odd games .
The perfect scenario would be to win the league tomorrow and then Matt can play all the peripheral squad players at Barnet next week - with the pressure off I’m sure we would still win.

I haven’t posted for months. Truth be told, I’d relinquished my season ticket end of 2020 because I was fed up with our football....
Egg on face time.
I’ll be avidly watching the game on television tomorrow. I will be rooting for the team, not so much for me (first game back in the mid-70s) but for all of you die-hards who have followed this team through thick and thin. Call me a glory hunter, or a refugee from the bloated Premier League, but when COVID restrictions lessen I’ll be back at GGL, League 2 or not.
But I’d put money on it being League 2.

I know the job isn’t completed yet, but can anyone answer a question? When was the last time a part-time (in our case three-quarter time) team won promotion into the Football League? Has it ever happened in modern times?

Its like living a giant freeze frame, it feels like everything has just frozen at the point that JC strikes that penalty vs Leeds or Max just has to hit home from 5 yards out against AFC Wimbledon. You know that feeling of maximum suspense just before your eyeballs pop out.

If we do manage to clinch the title this afternoon, I’d like to think that our fans would be above gloating on Torquay’s forum. We can show that we’re way more classy than they are.

I'll be meeting up with my oldest mate today, known him since birth. Our first game at GGL was (I think) in the 86/87 season and I still have the home and away scarves of that vintage. They will be worn with pride today.
We've both spent time living abroad over the last 20 years and didn't see eachother for something like 5 years at one point. But...GGL has always been a reference point for us, whether in the Ryman Premier against Carshalton or the FA Cup against Leeds. I don't think either of us imagined we'd ever be wandering down to the Lane with a place in the league at stake, mind!
Will be an emotional day.
