We can actually talk about this now we're not going to be involved in it!
So we know for sure that Torquay, Stockport, Hartlepool and Notts County have made it to the play offs. The first question is who will join them. It will be 2 out of 5: Wrexham, Chesterfield, Bromley, Eastleigh and Halifax.
Eastleigh have an extra game to get the points, but both of those are away (where they've struggled) and they face Solihull, with possibly the best home record in the league on the last day. Otherwise, it's actually looking quite a tasty last day of the season. Halifax host Chesterfield in what could be a winner takes all game (and I expect that will be the one for BT), but also Bromley host Notts County. Wrexham don't have it easy either and have to travel to Dagenham for the last day. Hartlepool should be able to see off Weymouth without too much difficulty, whilst Stockport have a potential banana skin at Yeovil although we know that Stockport's away record has been superb.
My prediction is that Stockport get that other semi final place, 1 point ahead of Hartlepool. Bromley beats Notts County, whilst Wrexham get the points at Dagenham, thus pushing Wrexham into 5th and Notts into 6th. I don't think it will be enough for Bromley though as I think that Chesterfield will win at Halifax, and give them the advantage on goal difference, whilst Eastleigh flounder on the last day of the season to miss out.
Personally, I'm mostly indifferent about who goes up with us. I'd be fine with Stockport, Torquay, Hartlepool, Chesterfield, Wrexham or Halifax. I think if I had to narrow it down, probably Wrexham or Stockport from purely an emotional rather than a convenience thing (we're travelling so much next season, another northern side is going to make little difference). I wouldn't shed a tear if Eastleigh or Notts don't go up, and Bromley, to me, is straight down the middle. Pros and cons to me about them being a league side.
Prediction, based on my prediction - Either the winner of the Wrexham/Notts game, or Stockport.
