I've little doubt that the reasons for the postponement are legitimate, but calling off a fixture the evening before is really not a good look for the club. 🤨 If the Covid test results only came back this morning what else could they have done? Postponement also has to be agreed by the efl/fa hence the late announcement. Exactly. It's worth noting that this evening's England Under 21's match vs. Romania was cancelled the day before for precisely the same reason i.e. positive Covid-19 tests. These things happen.

As far as I'm aware, none of Palace's England Under 21 players were involved in Tuesday's fixture.

As Steveo77 rightly says "I think there will be far more of this kind of thing with other clubs throughout the winter.
There seems to be a view amongst some people that COVID has gone away. It clearly hasn't". My concern is that the
potential risk of this happening again for Sutton might be somewhat higher than for a number of other clubs as we are
training at a grammar school's playing fields and consequently sharing a training facility with a largely unvaccinated
population. I have no knowledge at all of the cause or the extent of this particular outbreak - and I'm certainly not
suggesting that it has resulted from sharing a training facility with school children (indeed, to the best of my
knowledge, the Autumn term doesn't start till next week). I'm just suggesting that maintaining a safe 'bubble' might be
somewhat more difficult for us going forward than for clubs that own their own state of the art training facilities. I
hope that all of the Sutton players/staff who have contracted the virus don't develop symptoms and are clear of the virus
soon.

I've been advised by the EFL that any iFollow passes bought for tomorrow will be valid for the streaming of the rearranged game, which will be streamed because the original game was going to be. If anyone does want to apply for a refund, though, they should contact ifollow@efl.com.

I trust that all of the players have been double-jabbed. I think that's the responsibility of all professional sports people.

What an odd thing to say. The NHS hasn't prioritised sportspeople and the age group of many of our players hasn't been routinely offered vaccinations for long enough for all of them to have had both doses (one, but not necessarily both). It might not be within their control.

I trust that all of the players have been double-jabbed. I think that's the responsibility of all professional sports people. The vaccine does not stop you getting it anyway. Just prevents you getting really ill from it. Two of my Sisters mates have tested possitive, one single jabbed and the other double jabbed. For all we know the players who have tested possitive could have been vaccinated.

Knowing that training facility as well as I do, I can assure you the risk you mention there is nigh on impossible. There would be a much greater risk in that respect from the kids of players rather than from Northey Avenue.

From an entirely selfish point of view I went on holiday today so this means I can at least get to the rearranged game hopefully.
Hoping the affected players/staff make a swift recovery.

I see that Stevenage have stopped selling away tickets for their game at GGL next Saturday. Let's hope that's just a precautionary measure.
