On Saturday we venture up the M1 for as far as i know our first encounter with Northampton town ,certainly in their new ground.
I remember watching cricket at Northants cricket ground right next door to the three sided stadium which was their old ground.
Fairly similar stats to us but they sit 5th in the table so it should be a good test for us. Having watched our last two games i'm more than confident we are capable of taking 3 points there.

Northampton are one of the four clubs relegated from League One this year. (We're due to play two more of those this month.)
Their leading league scorer this season with three goals is Jon Guthrie, who's a centre back so will presumably need watching at set pieces.
Also in their squad is former Hampton & Richmond striker Nicke Kabamba, who's previously played against us for Hartlepool.
Heavy and persistent rain is forecast for tomorrow afternoon, so playing conditions could be interesting.

I note from the preview that we’ve signed a keeper on an emergency one-month contract - Harry Palmer (done the rounds on the non-league circuit) as Brad House is out injured currently. Sho-Silva also missing. Adam Lovatt has come back into the squad after his one-month loan at Tonbridge expired. Is Kenny Davis close to returning to fitness do we know?

I've not heard anything about Kenny recently.
Our friend from Northampton has given some advice in another thread about pre-match drinking. My recommended pub is the Malt Shovel Tavern (121 Bridge St NN1 1QF). Winner of many CAMRA awards, it's about half a mile from Northampton station (unfortunately in the opposite direction from Sixfields Stadium). Expect a choice of around a dozen ales, though hot food may be limited to pasties. Popular with fans of Northampton rugby, so, with Saints at home, it's likely to be busy tomorrow lunchtime. (I plan to visit in the evening.)

Good luck to the Sutton Utd fans travelling to Northampton today. Could well be a favorable result for us and we go into the match with our tails up. I've had my wings clipped so not going, staying closer to home by going to see Tooting and Mitcham v Northwood. I'm a fickle away supporter anyway. Have a great day at Northampton and safe travels.

Still not seen a better side than us this season. Good win, reduced them to very little. After half hour they had run out of ideas. Sharper all over the pitch, a level above Northampton. Nothing to fear in this division. Being greedy we could do with properly killing it off with the 3rd, but given where we have come from it’s incredible to be writing that.
It’s funny how all opposition’s performances are terrible against Sutton. Happened for a couple of years now . . . wonder why!!
Spoke to a couple of very magnanimous Northampton supporters afterwards, their inquest will go on a while.

Are any Sutton fans still in Northampton? I'm staying with a mate at the Ibis.

First away win! I reckon this was our most mature performance of the season so far. We were disciplined at the back and clinical up front. But for two superb saves by their keeper we'd have won more comfortably. There can surely be no doubt now that we're arrived in League Two.

Its has to be one of the best ever U's league performances, to win away to a fancied side without really being troubled to secure our first ever EFL away win is simply top drawer. Any doubters there were that little Sutton didn't fully deserve their league status has been well and truly blown out of the water in the past week, 6 goals for none against. From Deano to Wilson the team were superb today, win our game in hand and we are in the playoffs - Surely not Over the moon, and far far away.........
