Living in Swindon, I’ve been eagerly waiting for this match since the start of the season. Happily walking locally this morning in my Sutton shirt. Regarding their fans, they have often been known to take over a thousand away in the past and some will be disappointed that they didn’t get a ticket for tonight, but they really would be foolish to stand with Sutton supporters. As for the team, they won’t particularly be used to playing in a ground like ours and if they slip into their minds that we really are only non league (which shouldn’t happen) then they are on a hiding to nothing as they ain’t very good against teams in the lower leagues. A real shame Mickey Joyce is missing this one. I’m going for a win and floating back down the M4 (the parts that are open anyway). As an aside it’s Simon Downers birthday today and he too lives in Swindon! 😁💛🤎💛🤎

The problem with segregation is where do neutrals go ? There are often people who just want to take in a match and they don't necessarily live locally.

How is that a problem? They can go wherever and in the case of tonight would have to be Sutton end.
Of course everyone should be able to mix wherever in the ground and we have done for many years, the minority don’t allow that to happen and obviously the higher you go the more idiots come along just by weight of numbers. If you go to football and can’t stand with or near opposition supporters without getting aggressive and/or fighting then you probably need to be have a good think about your life.

Freshened up tonight, 2 changes up top with Olaofe and Bugiel starting. Wyatt for Milsom, Randall for Enzio, Goodliffe back for Rowe.

We've been second best throughout this first half and are lucky to be at 1-2. Similar to the Port Vale game really!

Really poor start. Solid opposition. Four first team players missing and it mattered. Let’s get ready for the next one now, it is a tough period with two games every week till the end of October.

Too many changes tonight in my opinion, slow out of the blocks - Swindon were zipping the ball around and moving much quicker than us in that first half. Missing Easty at the moment, he really does make us tick - maybe he picked up a knock in training last week but I suspect it was against Portsmouth when he was needlessly brought off the bench when we were leading.
Superb attendance again of just under 3,500.

Hats off to Swindon, some class players and thought they might run us ragged in the first half.
We did get back into the game in the second half but very much hoof ball... Wide players not in the game today. Kizzi and Ajiboye had excellent chances to pull us level. We will lose some games.
Who will we play in midfield on Saturday? Anyone’s guess.

This is of course the return fixture between U's and Swindon Town, we were beaten by a smash and grab ourselves in the last minute at the County ground on Dec 15th 1981 FA Cup 2nd round. Joycey was the Sutton scorer that day - So remember it may be 40yrs later but we owe them one Yes I was there that day. Kept battling tonight although beaten by a stronger and more "professional" team. 2 unstoppable goals. They should go up and maybe we needed this a bit. Probably the best team I've seen us play this season but we weren't far behind.

Without Deano that would have been 4 or 5-1. We were given a bit of a going over for the first 30 minutes, but somehow got back into the game. They played football, but frankly, we didn’t. Too much hit and hope, little cohesion, too many players running up blind alleys with the ball. Link up play between full-backs and ‘wingers’ not up to normal standards. Midfield overran in first half, pulled back in the second but the ball constantly lost. Bit of an off day.

The run of good form had to come to and end some time, and tonight we were beaten by a decent side who scored two quality goals.
The first half was reminiscent of the Port Vale game in that we started slowly, went 2-0 down (could easily have been more), but managed to get a goal back before half time to give us a foothold. Unlike the Port Vale game, the second half was goalless; we were a bit better, they weren't quite as good.
Dean Bouzanis was surely our man of the match, as he kept the scoreline respectable with some impressive saves. I don't think any of our outfield players had a particularly great game.
With Harry going off injured in the second half, we could be a bit light in midfield on Saturday.
We're 8th in the table after twelve League Two games, having won half and lost a third of them. Not bad for a pub team from Surrey!

Tough evening..
Outplayed for lengthy periods but we showed so much guts and fight to hang in there.
Barden was superb for the few minutes he came on and don’t forget he came to us as a holding midfield player.
Still yet to see our first eleven on the pitch and with a game in hand we are doing brilliantly well.

Probably the best team I've seen us play this season but we weren't far behind. I think we were beaten by the better side on the night, they came out of the blocks very fast, we didn't really know what hit us and were 2-o down before we got any sort of a toe hold in the match. The players certainly did battle tooth and nail until the end, but nothing really dropped for us, Dean had to keep us in the game with some magnificent saves, but it was not to be. I think we missed Eastie tonight in that midfield, Harry who fingers crossed will be fine is a more creative player whereas we probably needed a little more metal in there. I thought Swindon were the best side we have seen at the Lane for quite a long time, so credit to them..
