Literally 1 goal is all that splits us and Swindon.
I've got a vague memory of Ben Garner playing for us around 15 years ago during our Conference South mid table obscurity years. Anyone else remember that?
They've got Johnny Williams, who I think is probably too good for this level, but it's obviously there due to him knowing Garner from their Palace days.
Swindon on the road have been superb this season, but they've been drawing more than they have been winning in recent games. They have however beaten FGR and Salford (both something we've failed to do), but then failed to beat Port Vale, Northampton and Stevenage.
This one literally is too close to call. A win will almost certainly make us go up the table as Harrogate and Tranmere play each other (if they draw we still however may not over take Harrogate on gd). Port Vale play Mansfield, so I expect they'll get a win there.
Looking at the permutations 9v12th and 10v11th probably means that even if we lose and all other results go against us, we won't end the evening lower than 9th, barring a rugby score in at least one of those games.

As a Swindon resident I would be especially pleased to win this one. Bragging rights at stake. Possibly our toughest task yet. Swindon have done well to get a decent side together following off field turmoil over the summer. Waiting for the bump in the road, hoping we can put off the bump. Another big crowd will be in.

I'm a little more optimistic and saw Swindon's smash and grab at FGR on the tv highlights and read the report. Yes they are up there and only lost two games so far this season but i'm expecting us to take all 3 points on Tuesday evening. In defence they are strong and i guess they like to hit teams on the break but if we get an early goal that may change their mindset. We may see a few changes on Tuesday with Matt freshening up the starting 11.

This is of course the return fixture between U's and Swindon Town, we were beaten by a smash and grab ourselves in the last minute at the County ground on Dec 15th 1981 FA Cup 2nd round. Joycey was the Sutton scorer that day - So remember it may be 40yrs later but we owe them one

I think games we have won and lost could have turned out different as its a close and competitive league. Our work rate and discipline has seen us come out on top recently. I can see a good run or a bad run being allways around the corner this season. That said, as it stands we have been pretty good at home and are on good form so you have to say we have a good chance for 3 points. But I would take a draw. We had a bit of luck against Port Vale but we still deserved a draw. I see Swindon being a strong side and giving us a hard game.

Hopefully we can match our effort and determination that we've shown thus far and I think we have every chance of a great result tonight. I'm really looking forward to it! Just hoping the rain doesn't dampen things...

I don't know about anyone else but I am still at the stage where I look at these thread titles and think "flipping heck, this is a LEAGUE match!"

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I've lost count of the number of times this season I've gone to the BBC Sport website and clicked on the National League section by mistake.

Judging by a thread on their forum a few of their lot are trying to get tickets in the home end but I’m sure the club are aware of this when ticket purchases get processed.

Funny, I do the same. Although I have just looked where we were after 11 games last season. We were indeed top, with 23 points, W7 D2 L2 (although other teams had played less at the time)
This season, we're on 20 points W6, D2, L3. The only difference is a defeat instead of a win.

During our FA Cup run a few seasons back, a lot of AFC Wimbledon fans were ‘in among us’, but I cannot remember how strict the segregation was for that match. It caused no trouble. Being the passive (in a good sense) people that we are, any Swindon supporter that does mingle with us will be safe. Couldn’t say the same at many other grounds… I get the need to enforce the segregation, as I’m sure the EFL will be on it if any away supporters getting tickets for the home area did lead to trouble.

Whilst the point you make is fair, it's not really a fair comparison to compare a club that is very friendly towards us and who a number of their fans come to see Sutton when AFC are away or not playing, to a club that have never played us in the league before from around 100 miles away. I think in general there wouldn't be an issue, but there will be a small part of the crowd that would get aggressive if things don't go our way and could well take it out on a Swindon supporter who happened to be next to them, or vice versa. Kind of why segregation exists. Mind you anyone who comes into the Sutton end wearing Swindon colours (presuming they hid it on the way in) is an idiot.
