Our 2nd cup game in 3 days tonight in very different circumstances. We're in a very strange position where we could lose a cup game and still progress in the competition.
We need a specific set of results tonight for us not to qualify. Not only do we have to lose tonight, but Palace will need to beat Wimbledon. Even if that happens, Palace will need to overhaul a 6 goal difference for us not to qualify. Not impossible of course but quite unlikely. Even to finish 2nd in the group, AFCW will need to overturn a 5 goal difference for that to happen.
As the chances are that we will get through, we'll be in the Southern section of the 2nd round draw with the following teams:
West Ham U21 and the winner of Ipswich v Colchester Aston Villa U21 and MK Dons Walsall and either Brighton U21 or FGR (If FGR get a 2-2 score draw, win penalties or win they will qualify) Chelsea U21 and the winner of Bristol Rovers v Exeter Swindon and either Arsenal U21 or Newport (any draw or win for Newport will see them qualify) Charlton and Leyton Orient Cambridge and either Stevenage or Tottenham U21 (a defeat for Stevenage by more than one goal or a 1-0 defeat will see Spurs through)

I do. Thanks for reading.

I wonder if we’ll see much rotation of the squad for tonight’s game though with injuries mounting up I appreciate that might be difficult.
I feel Smith and Milsom could benefit from a rest having played a lot of minutes recently - we need both raring to go for Saturdays game up at Tranmere. Omar’s now on international duty again with Lebanon but at least Bennett is back from suspension. Judging by Matts post-match Hayes interview Barden and Easty have suffered slight setbacks. Might we see a couple of academy players on the bench?!

When is the draw for the next round?? Straight after the Port Vale v Bradford game this Saturday lunchtime on Sky Sports. If we top our group we’ll have a home tie in the knockout stage with ties played week commencing 29th November.

1-0 to Sutton, job done, and we top the group.
Matt made six changes to Saturday's starting XI, but stuck with the same back four. Useful run-outs for Kenny Davis (captain for the night), Ricky Korboa (who was great in the second half, after taking a while to get into the game) and Richie Bennett (back from suspension).
Brad House in our goal wasn't much tested. His opposite number Nik Tzanev made one point-blank save from Bennett in the first half, but was powerless to stop Donovan Wilson's precise finish early in the second.

Same result as Saturday but much more enjoyable. Really good game, especially by us in the 2nd half. Without Tzanev in goal it would have been a few more.
AFC are out after Portsmouth beat Palace 3-0
We now face one of the following:
Ipswich, MK Dons, Arsenal, Charlton, Stevenage, one of Chelsea/Bristol Rovers/Exeter, one of Forest Green/Brighton/Walsall.

Arsenal would be good. Grab a bit of revenge!

Very annoyed with some of our young following tonight especially the idiot who went on the pitch to do celebratory 'slides' at the end. Where were the stewards? There was also continuous abuse for our ex goalkeeper (one of our best IMO) - very embarrassing. I enjoyed the match though!

A very pleasant surprise after the confused style of play in the FA Cup game three days ago. We held well to the ball, created very elaborate chances and defended almost perfect, even diving in front of the opositions shots at the end. Good to have a real midfielder on finally - Rob is a fantastic player but not a central midfielder.
