I like to see the game end with 11 against 11 if at all possible.A penalty should be enough without sending the player off. All these sendings off for handball,2 innocuous challenges etc etc are a joke. Opposing players and spectators baying for the dismissals is also very unedifying. Yes but deliberate handball on the line to stop the ball going in the goal is not in the spirit of the game and a red card is the only viable option. After all penalties can be saved. In the old, old days, if Corinthians conceded a penalty, their keeper would make no attempt to save it, on occasions walking away to present the penalty taker with an empty goal. Lucky they didn’t have penalty shootouts in those days.

The most common score-line in the modern game is around the 1-0 mark.
Goals are at an absolute premium, especially with a well-drilled back four like ours.
Further up the football pyramid, some sides only let in an average of half a goal per game, Man City being a case in point.
Given the relative paucity at which goals are scored in the average match, it is absolutely right and proper to penalise players who deny plain and obvious goal-scoring opportunities by committing fouls.
If a lighter touch is adopted by referees, then expect to see a proliferation of nil-nil thrillers. No thanks.

I’ve just noticed that Bradford’s last 2 home attendances against Colchester and us are the same - 14,658!
