...again just the ones I've attended on this day, but there are plenty of memorable ones! (Most of which I've already typed out once and somehow lost ) 17 January 1998 saw us record a fine 3-0 win at Hitchin Town in the Isthmian League with John Ugbah scoring one and Joff Vansittart two. Again in the Isthmian League, on 17 January 2004 we won 4-2 at St Albans City, a game I remember well. Jon Nurse scored twice, Nicky Bailey once and the other was an o.g. Another one I remember well was a cold Tuesday evening, 17 January 2006 at Cambridge City where we lost a Conference South match 3-0. I got home to find my next-door neighbour had given birth to a lovely baby boy but I didn't get much sleep for the next few months as the wall was very thin. Back in the Isthmian League, on 17 January 2009 we won 2-1 at Horsham with Jon Munday and Billy Dunn scoring for us. On 17 January 2012 we witnessed a 6-0 thumping of Godalming Town at home in the Surrey Senior Cup. Kyle Vassell scored four times, Joel Ledgister once and there was also an o.g. Godalming got their revenge in the following season's final. On 17 January 2015 we beat Ebbsfleet 2-1 in the Conference South with Bedsente Gomis and Ricky Wellard scoring. Last but very much not least, 17 January 2017 was a very special evening in the FA Cup as we recorded an historic 3-1 win in our 3rd round replay away to AFC Wimbledon. I've done a lot of talking so I'll let others add to the thread their memories of this amazing match!

I don't think I need to say much more Can I put in an early marker for 18th January as "still drinking and celebrating" followed only a short while later with "wake up and off to work with a hangover"?

18 January is a bit less exciting I'm afraid.
On this day in 1997 we beat Hendon 3-1 at home in the Isthmian League with two goals from Andy Riley and one from Mark Hynes
On 18 January 2005 we lost a Conference South match 3-0 at home to Cambridge City. Anyone remember if that was the match where Lewis Gonsalves had to go in goal???
After a 15-year gap on this day in history (possibly due to weather related and/or being out of the FA Trophy) we drew 0-0 at Stockport in the National League on 18 January 2020, a more exciting match than the scoreline suggests.
A very mixed bag of results which we'll be adding to this evening!

Today is not a happy anniversary in our history, not for the last 20-odd years anyway!
On 19 January 2000 (unusually, a Wednesday) we lost 0-2 at Croydon in the Surrey Senior Cup.
We were not in a good place on 19 January 2008, when we lost 2-4 away to Fisher Athletic in the Conference South (which I had misremembered as Dulwich Hamlet but it would've been at their ground) en route to relegation. Guess who scored both our goals though? That's right: Craig Dundas.
While we were down there, another 2-4 defeat took place in the Isthmian League on 19 January 2010 as we lost to Ashford Town (Middx) at home with goals from Alan Pouton and Steve Watts.
On 19 January 2019 we lost 2-3 at Eastleigh in the National League. Gime Touré and Brett Williams scored for us.

I've done a lot of talking so I'll let others add to the thread their memories of this amazing match! One of my favourite Sutton days - landed at Gatwick at 6-ish, got a coach part of the way and a taxi for the rest, got to the ground to meet my mate a couple of mins before kick-off then had to play it cool for the match as we had only managed to get tickets with the home fans...luckily right next to the travelling contingent. Couple of post-match beers, then over to the folks' place in Sutton to crash before a 5am alarm call, a return to Gatwick for a 7am flight and in the office for half 10!

Amazing. And presumably it was all worth it!
I will never forget that night. So many memories - the sights, the sounds, the feelings.
The only fly in the ointment for me was I couldn't celebrate with everyone. I was pregnant but it was too early for me to be comfortable telling anyone (I had a miscarriage the previous year so didn't want people asking just in case) which of course meant I couldn't drink, but it's basically impossible for a woman in her twenties or thirties to not drink alcohol in that sort of situation without being questioned about whether she's pregnant, so I didn't really feel I could join in. Other than that, what a wonderful evening it was.

For older fans that sparks memories of the FA Trophy semi-final 1st leg at Bangor. One of our fans hired a helicopter to drop him at RAF Valley on Anglesey and then grab a cab to the ground, because his dad had chosen that day for his second wedding and it was the only way to do both !!

Not being able to join in on the boozing probably gives you clearer memories than many from that night!!

Tony Rains made the first of his 700+ appearances for us on 20 January 1979, a London Senior Cup tie at home to Carshalton which we lost 3-2. Coincidentally his brother made his 250th appearance in the same game, and scored one of our goals.

On 20 January 1998 we were comfortable 3-0 winners at home to Purfleet in the Isthmian League. Our goals came from David Everitt, John Ugbah and Matt Hanlan.
Another win came on 20 January 2007 at Weston-super-Mare in the Conference South. 2-0 with goals from Richard Harris and Warren McBean
The 20th is clearly a better day for us than the 19th. We won 2-1 at home to Dagenham and Redbridge on 20 January 2018 in the National League. Tommy Wright and Tom Bolarinwa scored for us.

21 Jan
If my memory serves me well, on this day in 1989 we played a home game against Weymouth in the GM Vauxhall Conference, which was our only league match between the Coventry and Norwich fixtures.
If my memory serves me well, we won 3-1 that day. As the dates and days of the week line up between our 2 great cup runs, that must mean that 21st Jan was also a Saturday in 2017, and indeed we also played a home fixture against a side from on or near the south coast. This time it was Eastleigh which we drew 1-1 with Matt Tubbs scoring our equaliser.

Other games I have been to on 21 January:
2006, a 0-0 Conference South draw at home to Yeading that was so desperately dull it has stuck in my memory for that reason
2012 a 1-1 Conference South draw at Maidenhead where Anthony Riviere scored for us
The 2017 one Andy mentioned I think was the last time we played on 21 January.
Weird how some dates seem to produce nothing but draws in recent years!

On 22 January 2000 we lost 1-0 at Kidderminster in our brief one-season visit to what is now the National League
On 22 January 2005 we won 3-2 at Havant and Waterlooville in the new Conference South. Matt Gray (no, not that one, although I think he signed for that day's opponents later that year!) scored twice. Eddie Akuamoah got the other.
22 January 2008 saw a comfortable 3-0 win (those were in short supply that season) over Met Police in the Surrey Senior Cup with two goals from Harry Ottaway and one from Rob Hughes
I was just thinking 22 January games often fall in promotion or relegation seasons for us and then I looked up the next one. Indeed, our 2-1 defeat at Bury Town on 22 January 2011 may have felt like a bit of a blow to our championship hopes that season but we did of course go on to win it. Our goal that day was scored by Karim El-Salahi.
Long time ago but I think that's the last time we played on this date. Leap years can mean up to eleven years between a day falling on a certain day of the week and that was the last Saturday one.

The first 23 January match I attended was in 1999. Home to St Albans City in the Isthmian League, we lost 2-3 with Danny Brooker and Andy Riley scoring our goals.
Funnily enough we lost by the same scoreline on 23 January 2007 as we visited Egham Town in the Surrey Senior Cup. This time our goals came from Matt Gray (the other one, blah blah) and Warren McBean.
In 2010, at home to Tonbridge Angels in the Isthmian League, this time on 23 January we won 2-1. Charlie Taylor got both goals.
Another 2-1 win came at home to Dartford in the NL South on 23 January 2016. I have the scorers as Fitchett and McAllister but I'm not sure how accurate that is.
Finally, on 23 January 2021 we comfortably beat Eastleigh 3-0 on the way to our first National League title. The scorers were Rob Milsom, David Ajiboye and Craig Eastmond
