So we are now a third of the way through the transfer window and we are yet to see any activity (that we are aware of) at our club. Some of our League 2 rivals have already added to their squads during this window and some have already lost players. From a personal point of view, I will be more than happy if at the end of the transfer window we have the same squad that we currently have. However, Matt has indicated in an interview that he was going to talk to Bruce about the possibility of bringing someone in. I saw Thomas Frank the Brentford manager interviewed today and he was talking about how keen he was for some of his squad players to go out on loan to get some game time. Maybe we could come to a mutually beneficial arrangement with our local neighbours? I think that we already have good first and second choice options in every position when everyone is fit (arguably our squad could do with a fourth specialist centre-back - although we have other players who can play at centre-half if required) and I would be disappointed to see us lose any of these players. We do have third choice options in a few positions - and I guess that Matt may need to consider releasing one or more of these players to create some space in the squad should he/Bruce agree that he can bring someone in.

We've still got 5 games to play before the end of the transfer window.
If we've already got 1st and 2nd choices for all positions why would any team want to loan us players to get game time when by definition they are unlikely to get game time?

Also the apple cart is rather happy at the moment. Why would you want to upset it? We’re doing absolutely fine thank you

It was reported that we put an offer in for a player but he has now signed for another club.

A player that is available, not for us to sign but for him to train with us so he can get fit and also to pass on some of his experience to our younger lads is ex England international Danny Rose. He has been released by Watford for not shifting a bit of weight (amongst other reasons) A short term possibility might assist both parties??

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang might be available Personally I hope we don't lose any players.

While I don't necessarily disagree with any of the views expressed by others who think that we should just maintain the status quo, playing devil's advocate:
1. When Matt said in an interview that he was going to talk to Bruce about the possibility of adding to the squad, I think that he was as as much concerned about possibly losing players to covid again later in the season as anything else; 2. We obviously brought in Tanto at the very end of the last transfer window and I suspect that few regular posters on this board would regret that - even though it has maybe restricted the playing opportunities for other very good players within the squad - probably most notably Donovan - who is arguably the best natural goal scorer we have; 3. It has always tended to be the policy of the top clubs to add to their squads even when things were going really well and they were winning trophies. During Sir Alex's time at Man Utd, he would always add one or two marquis signings to the squad during the Summer to add quality to the squad, to stop things going stale and to add competition for places to avoid any possibility of complacency. That approach seemed to work pretty well for him.
Not so sure about the suggestion re: Danny Rose. My main concern is that, rightly or wrongly, I got the impression (which might be totally incorrect) that he might have become a bit of a disruptive influence around the place in his latter days with both Spurs and England.
Certainly the priority this window should be not to lose any of our star performers - and I think that we all know who they are.

You should try standing in the Moan Zone for half a match. You wouldn't think we had any!

It was Ryan Loft who signed for Bristol Rovers who i believe offered the most money.

Love your comment about the 'Moan Zone' oohaah. I said to my son on Tuesday (he doesn't go very often) that we should take up position beneath the commentary/camera box to see what he thought of the view. I did state that it was where the moaners go and that he might not manage more than half a match there. Sure enough after picking a spot at random the guy immediately behind us shouted 'Go back to Millwall!' (I have no idea who that was intended for). My son was convinced that I'd set him up by choosing that particular spot as the guy and his mate continued to slag off everything and anything (including the pitch). Anyway after moving behind the goal for the second half he referred to the Rec side covered terrace as the 'Moan Zone' so I can't claim ownership...

I should say that in my opinion it's always been like it - When Motty says during the Coventry game "and Matt Hanlon salutes the crowd" you can tell where it is directed and I don't believe that it's a salute!!!

Sounds like we were infiltrated by Colchester supporters. What's not to admire about Tanto or like about the pitch.

There is a particular loud mouth who stands behind me back under the covered terrace.
