Biggest plus for us this transfer window is keeping our star assets - no doubt there would have been suitors for them. Beautyman and Rowe coming back into the squad from injury lay-offs will seem like new signings anyway. I foresee much more player movement in the squad over the summer. I agree - we'll need a little more depth for League One.

We may have got money for him as well. Hopefully he will get more game time at Carlisle.

We may have got money for him as well. Hopefully he will get more game time at Carlisle. Be interested to know what ball-park for the fee. I wish him well - just too much competition in that department here at the U’s.

Good luck to Tobi. Never wanted for effort. Can’t imagine the fee was much more than token amount.
If that’s all our outgoings we’ve had an absolutely brilliant transfer window in my opinion.

Carlisle are the lowest scorers in League Two and (as we witnessed on Saturday) in acute need of more firepower. We won't be facing them again this season, so can wish Tobi all the best there. He didn't get much game time at Sutton, so the deal makes sense from our end. (Whether he's actually the solution to their goal shortage remains to be seen.)

So as the curtains draw on this transfer window we see one player depart and no new arrivals. With regards to departures, 5 strikers always looked one too many. Of course, at the start of the season, we didn't know whether Millwall would allow Tanto to return to us or not. Once Tanto was allowed to return to us for the season, Tobi's opportunities always looked like they would be limited. Hopefully his move to Carlisle will be a good one for all parties - and I wish him well. I find it hard to believe that there hasn't been any interest shown in any of our other players - David in particular - so credit to Matt and the Board for standing firm and holding onto arguably our star asset(s). I would also expect that Millwall would have received interest from clubs in taking Tanto off their hands on a permanent basis - so the fact that Tanto is still with us on loan suggests that Millwall see him very much as part of their future. If I'm wrong, I would love Tanto to be part of our future beyond this season. With regard to the absence of incomings, is this because we couldn't compete in the transfer market with bigger clubs, is it because we have incurred significant costs that no other clubs at our level have incurred due to the necessary work on our ground/pitch - or is it because we are just happy with the squad we have? Matt has said many times how happy he was with the transfer dealings that the club did during the Summer and how happy he is with the squad he has. Can any regular user of this board honestly say that there is any position in the team that we obviously need to strengthen - especially with Harry and Coby on the way back? As Mark F said recently on another thread "No manager gets it all right but last season and so far this suggests Matt ain't far off perfection". Keeping a relatively unchanged squad served us well in winning the league last season - who is to say that the same approach might not earn us promotion again this season? The clubs who brought in the most new players during this window are clubs who are arguably struggling to avoid relegation (for example Colchester) or underachieving (for example Salford). Maybe we didn't bring anyone in because we didn't need to as we got our recruitment right in the Summer and prior to that. In Matt and the Board we trust.

Its not quite over yet if clubs have paperwork in with the league they can still complete signings so I am told.

Seems we’ve sold Sho-Silva Fair to say Carlisle fans are a bit miffed on that Twitter post. Can't really blame em, but it does make some amusing reading. 'did he miss the bus?' was my favorite. Good bit of business for us. With Bennett playing so well now, I expect him to get a lot more game time. We've got 4 strikers in decent nick. Quite the luxury for Matt.

I wish Toby all the best on his move to Carlisle. Also Young Callam to Brighton.

What is the situation with Killian, can we recall him quickly if need be? Does dual reg exist for us anymore?
As mentioned Harry & Toby will both feel like new signings in next few weeks.
Also are we able to register players who may have been released elsewhere (should there be any floating about) or is that shut now as well?

Out of respect for the players, if nothing else, is it possible for posters to actually spell their names correctly?
In the last 2 posts alone Tobi has been spelled as Toby, Casey referred to as Callam, Kylian as Killian and Coby as Toby!

I have to say I have found this thread to be quite an obsession for some, perhaps they could get a job with Sky?
Matt has always said if something came along he may show an interest but otherwise was happy with the current squad and why wouldn't he be? Well, it didn't. End of story.
The rest is just mere speculation (see above re Sky).
Window now closed, perhaps we can move on.
