In the last transfer window, Matt brought Tanto in on loan on the last day of the window. It wouldn't surprise me if he brought a loan signing in to bolster the squad on the last day of this window. Equally, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't - and provided that we can hang on to what we've already got, I wouldn't be particularly disappointed either. Having Harry working his way back to fitness after such a long time out is like having a (brilliant) new signing for the business end of the season (similarly Coby). It sounds like earlier in the window we did show an interest in signing Ryan Loft from Scunthorpe - so it appears that we are at least open to the possibility of bringing someone in if the right player is available at the right price. I would have thought that Terry Bullivant, our Director of Football, would be leading the search for bargains.

I really don't understand the transfer deals that some clubs do. Salford have today loaned their centre forward Tom Elliot to Bradford City. Salford are currently one point ahead of Bradford - who have a game in hand - and they are direct rivals for a possible play off place. Last season, Stockport loaned our own Richie Bennett to Hartlepool. Hartlepool edged out Stockport for promotion to the EFL through the play offs - and it is arguable that without Richie's goals, Hartlepool might not have even made the play offs.

Louie Barry has just been loaned to Swindon but Bradley Young the other half of Villa's FA Youth Cup winning strike force is looking for a loan to a Div 2 club. He could match David's pace and play on the left.

Wasn't happy when i saw Louie Barry had been loaned to one of our promotion rivals who we still have to play away.

Our neighbours Bromley are having an excellent season in the National League. I'm sure that we are the last team that they would want to lose any of their players to - but if they have any more gems like Joe Kizzi, the chance of guaranteed EFL football next season without having to relocate might be tempting.

Only movement so far today is the transfer of under-18 academy player Casey Shann to Brighton where he signs pro terms not sure if we get any compensation or transfer fee.

I seem to recall that a number of years ago we lost a young Louis John to Crawley under similar circumstances - before he eventually returned (twice).

I believe that a club with an academy side have more rights over an asset than those with a youth side.

Compensation applies to players who registered as Scholars, that does not mean everyone who plays for an academy.

It appears that Aubameyang's loan move to Barcelona has broken down and Arsenal don't seem to want him at the club. Perhaps we could offer to accommodate him if Arsenal continue to pay his wages? He could be a useful back up to Tanto and Donovan.

U turn at Barcelona and Aubameyang has joined them. Our search for a third choice striker continues.

Biggest plus for us this transfer window is keeping our star assets - no doubt there would have been suitors for them. Beautyman and Rowe coming back into the squad from injury lay-offs will seem like new signings anyway.
I foresee much more player movement in the squad over the summer.
