J P and myself were at the shop this morning getting tickets. The workers were moving building equipment from the dove cote down to the building site. Also the brickies were working on the terracing by the Tardis.

Good too hear the work going on at the ground. Just shows you how far we have come. ⚽️⚽️

If I knew how to attach a photo from my desktop I'd be showing a photo of the new "Tardis Terrace", which is maybe 80% complete, not including crush barriers. This is the open terrace next to the blue matchday control room.

Sorry to 'bump' an old thread, but thought it better than starting a new one.
My understanding is that after 3 seasons in the EFL, the ground has to have a capacity of 5,000 (tick) but including 2,000 seats. And that the club has been given dispensation by the EFL to do the works in the Summer close-season (rather than by 31st March 2024, the usual ground grading deadline)
Of course the club having to do this work (adding a stand of circa 1000 seats) does depend on them staying up in the EFL (fingers crossed).
It may come to pass that the club goes down to the National League - and if so, then the work would not happen.
However it does seem odd that the club doesn't seem to have submitted plans to the Council for planning permission (for a seated stand). A major application such as this can take 12 weeks to get a decision for, and the process could take longer if initial plans have to be amended.
Is the necessary work in the pipeline to be imminently revealed does anyone know?

The stand has to have one thousand seats. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

And to my understanding there are no real issues to worry about in that regard. Many have said if we go down we will never come back up. Well, if we did go down, at least coming back up will not involve such an investment, and if we push to come up again then the club can invest in the team rather than worry about what requirements will be expected of us once promoted.

I’m sure planning permission was granted some time ago, possibly with a number of different options for exact size and location and for materials.
I’ve heard unsubstantiated rumours of a “temporary” stand with a canvas roof and numerous pillars at the front, similar to the stand at Crawley or the new additions at Barrow, which could possibly be installed quite easily over the existing Collingwood terrace, requiring only the existing roof to be removed (the canvas stand at Crawley is actually built over an existing concrete terrace). This would presumably be the quickest and cheapest option, albeit an unsatisfactory one, in my opinion.

Did Tim A ,in an earlier post, said that the stand was a requirement of the EFL. And he was asking/looking for £500000 to build it.planning permission I believe has been granted.

I don’t believe there are any immediate plans to demolish the curva. They’ll therefore need to maintain existing sight lines from there, so it suggests the footprint for any new stand would be similar to that of the existing Collingwood stand. Depending on its height and length the new stand could be slightly forward of the existing terrace, but only by a few feet. Access to the seating would always presumably be from the front, by steps just as at Crawley. No space for any amenities underneath. A “temporary” stand that could easily become permanent? But cheap (relative to virtually all other options).
