Am I right in thinking that the only way to get tickets for this is to contact Port Vale by phone?

Am I right in thinking that the only way to get tickets for this is to contact Port Vale by phone? Tickets for Saturdays Sky Bet League Two game against Port Vale remain on sale at our Club Shop each day until Thursday, from 10am to 12 noon. Prices are: Adult (age 22-61) £20; Senior (age 62+) £15; Young Adult (age 18-21) £12; Young Teen (age 13-17) £8, Under 13 free. Tickets are also on sale after 1pm on the day from the away sales kiosk, with a £2 increase in all prices.

Big test for us of course. I suppose there are players who are on the way back from injury who may be able to play a part tomorrow but will also want to be right for 3rd April! Presume there will be some selection dilemmas for Matt & Jason who will want/need to field as strong as possible XI against a tough promotion rival, get some minutes into the legs of returning players (who naturally want to be involved at Wembley) without risking any one before they are ready to play. I guess all will be revealed about 24 hrs from now!

I don’t think Wembley comes into the picture personally. We’ve got a week off to focus on that post Vale and get as many bodies as fit as possible. As always Matt will concentrate entirely on this current game and will pick the strongest team and squad possible to get a result that he can.
It seems to me one of our biggest problems has been we’ve had to play people before they are really ready, or when not 100%, and also give them too many minutes too quickly due to the injury crisis. This has compounded problems. Perhaps by Vale we may be turning the corner on that and getting enough fit to ease players back in more carefully now. It goes without saying it would be huge boost to have 3 or 4 of the following back this week:
John, Milsom, Wilson, Olaofe, Barden, Kizzi, Eastmond, Smith, Randall.
It sounded plausible that a few could be available from Matt’s interview after Oldham but as ever we don’t really get any concrete information. You’d think Barden, Olaofe, Smith probably might be a bit further off in terms of starting than the others given longer term absences.

Port Vale are unbeaten at home in their last 7, including matching us v FGR (1-1) and Northampton (0-0) and the obigatory beating of Scunthorpe.
We currently sit 10th in PPG, which is where FWP currently have us finishing. They also predict we'll lose 2-0, although remember they predicted us getting a draw at Boundary Park.
As already mentioned it's 8 days until our next game which is exactly what we need as we come to the end of what has been quite a horrific run of matches, most of them away. A lot can happen in that time and if we have players coming back from injury, it may be worthwhile getting some minutes of gametime in before next week. I'm sure the gaffer knows who he is going to pick already.

8 games left and 14 points required. That should ensure a play off place at least. We know Matt has an end of season target and mine rightly or wrongly is 75 points. Counting down the games!

All aboard - on the supporters coach - tomorrow maybe my last away trip of this historic season (work might get in the way of the remaining three).
Q to all: Conor and myself are on commentary duties and I wanted to know what do you prefer - a radio commentary or a tv commentary.
The reason I ask - I feel we are stuck between both as sometimes the matches are live streamed and sometimes there not.
And it’s difficult to do a TV commentary when your on the opposite side of the tv gantry.
Hope that all makes sense?
============
I was at the home fixture what a day - pre match lunch and then in warm October sunshine ☀️ breaking down Port Vale for that famous 4-3 last last minute winner.
Port Vale 1 SU 5 👋🎈⚽️🍰

Port Vale 1 SU 5 👋🎈⚽️🍰 Ever the optimist Sol - I’d heard Port Vale were objecting to half the Sutton team needing walking sticks and Zimmer frames to get onto the pitch…..so 5-1 the other way more of a possibility. Pardon my ignorance but how is doing a commentary from the opposite side from the gantry and different - isn’t the Sutton Left still the Sutton left. I would have thought the only difference is when it comes to saying Sutton are kicking from left to right - hence why you say attacking the Collingwood Road end. I have heard both radio and football commentaries and they are equally good - the truly bad ones have been when you’ve had to use phones cos the ISDN lines were down. The only slight criticism of the radio commentary is that Ahmed gets a bit excited and forgets to say what’s about to happen whilst he holds his breath! …..but you can be in no doubt when we’ve scored.

A repeat of the home game will do me. By far the best game of the season in my view and a tremendous ending, 4-3 to Sutton. I have a side interest in seeing how Kian Harratt does for PV - he made his debut in the PL for Huddersfield over three years ago but hasn’t yet had much of a chance there, though he’s scored a few while on loan for Vale. Haven’t been to Vale Park in over 30 years - I think you’ll be surprised at the scale of the place. It was once being heralded as the “Wembley of the North”, not that the Potteries is the north, mind.

Toothman - hope all’s well.
I am smiling 🙂 at me trying to explain commentating from the opposite side to a TV gantry.
If you see me tomorrow come over and nudge me and we will have a chat - easier for me to explain.
Always optimistic me always!
Enjoy the game.
