I know it’s a bit early to speculate but the Barrow Forum is discussing the weather for Saturday and although the forecast is for rain they are talking about the snow on Thursday and Friday which is forecast to be heavy. I wonder if there would be a pitch inspection on Friday to save a wasted long journey?

Ali Maxwell just said on his mid week review on the NTT20 You Tube channel - that if the season started in mid November which was 17 games ago Sutton would be top of the league. That is a form table that suggests our push for the playoffs has legs. As said earlier we are top also of the 4 6 and 12 game tables. Can't believe that I'm being this optimistic.
Barrow is one of our least rewarding places to visit I think. IF we are going to reach the playoffs- we need something from the game and to average 2 ppg for the last 11 matches to reach 76 points again. That is some ask looking at the opposition to come.

Weather forecast for Barrow looks worse for Thurs/Fri than for Fri/Sat, so I'm cautiously optimistic that the game will be on. But we have been caught out before up there. 🙄
We can expect this to be a tight game. In each of their last seven matches they've not scored or conceded more than a single goal. (Earlier in the season though they were involved in some high-scoring games, a 3-2 win at Mansfield and a 5-1 defeat at Carlisle were both in January.) This fixture will be a test of our good form.

The snow weather warnings for Thurs cover most of northern England, but not Barrow. Being coastal its much more likely they will have rain instead of snow.

Seems like its going to be cold and sunny tomorrow so i'm expecting the game to go ahead. Safe travels for all those travelling. Did it once a couple of years ago but will be cheering on from afar this time.

Mansfield v Orient tomorrow has been called off following heavy snowfall in Nottinghamshire.
Students of the league table will realise the implication for us.

Barrow forum asking for volunteers to help remove snow from pitch.
Some concerns about the safety of terracing etc.
Where do we predict travelling fans get to before we get the dreaded news?

A place more often than not we come away from empty handed, this could be our best chance of getting something up there.
Barrow started the season very strongly, but floundered quite significantly between October and January. Although they are on the rise again, their home form hasn't been great, only winning once in the last 7, only scoring 3 in those games. In the same number of away matches for us, we've only lost two, and looking at the last 10 away games, we've lost 3 and they were the only away games where we didn't score.
Crewe v Salford which would have been in a significant area of snow, is on tonight.

It shouldn’t be all about the state of the pitch it’s also about the safety of the team getting there and back in my opinion. Conditions en route not good.

The severity of the weather is more towards the Pennines and east, and with no further snow predicted until well after the game (if at all), there is currently no issues with either road or rail transport towards Barrow aside from any usual problems that happen in any normal day.

The team were due to travel up to Manchester by rail this morning, train at Bolton Wanderers, then continue to Barrow by coach. As Andy says, the main roads should be clear of any snow for the next 24 hours and beyond. I can't see any problems with travel. I'm now on a train to Lancaster which is running on time.

Pleased they’ve gone up by train as I have it first hand that conditions and visibility on roads in Manchester, Haydock and Leeds poor.
