I must admit I had taken Billy’s rhyme to be a commendation to those that travelled rather than a jeer. I hope I’m correct!

As someone who has done 700 miles this weekend to go to Barrow and then stay up north to go to Man Utd v Saints and watch another 0-0 draw I am not taking any offence from Billy's comment. I only saw brief highlights but it looked like a decent game, plenty of saves, hitting of woodwork etc.Your boys seemed a bit unlucky albeit against ten men for an hour or so.A big improvement on the 9-0 from around this time two years ago! Not sure if you are old enough to remember this one but i certainly am.

But I'm judging by track record. The pay off is in the last line. One can only assume it's a kind of hobby?

It's Billy's humour ,not to be taken too seriously ! Again, I would say that's a very charitable instinct. But I would not describe it as humour. And it's an attitude that is a continuing theme. It has been for some considerable time.

He just thinks it's fundamentally foolish.

Because he doesn't get it. To be frank I don't think my explanation would help with that because he doesn't want to get it.

The highlights predate me by a year but it's nice to see stuff like that. I thought they were unlucky as well but it's nice to see them go about their business and put a shift in which wasn't necessarily the case a few months back - something it would be difficult to accuse Sutton of.

One of the photos nicely captured that 24’s longer throws were all illegal, the power all came from his right arm and the left just kept the ball in place. It also helped put a spin on the ball.

I started 'shouting' that his throws were one handed after the first couple. Interestingly by the end he seemed to be throwing with two hands and of course was not getting them to travel as far. Thought the other Barrow player ('5'?) had a better technique and was more accurate. Why do linesmen and referees let so many players get away with the one-handed throw? Perhaps because the player is throwing in on the blind side of the officials. Can the fourth official intervene - although that would only happen when the throw in is on his side of the pitch.
