Hi, not sure if this has been covered on other threads, but what improvements have been made to the ground this close season. I’ve seen that the temporary away stand has gone. Also the disabled stand has been removed. I take it both of these areas have been replaced. Anything done to improve home supporters areas.

You're right this was discussed a month or so back.
There is unlikely to be any major home end improvements until the rec side stand is built (if needed) next summer.
I believe the Goodliffe stand for those needing wheelchair access etc is going to be re-sited where the temporary away stand was.
I wait to be corrected if any of the above is wrong.

When I was in the ground last weekend, that's exactly what had been done from what I could see.

Is the away capacity reduced with the loss of the temporary stand? Presume it is a bit.

Just seen that corner of the ground and see that the goodliffe shelter is next to the away shelter, so presume the pavilion goes behind them. ⚽️⚽️⚽️

From that comment, I assume any major work to improve the home supporter viewing would be suspended should we lose our league place. Were that to happen, beyond the misery if relegation, it would be insult to injury if the only decent terrace (current away end) was for the likes of Solihull and Boreham wood with their 8 away supporters. Close off the tardis terrace and stick them in there so they can enjoy uninterrupted views of the floodlight pylon.

I think everything has to be in place by April 2024 so before the end of the season (or work has to be started by then). Rest assured our wonderful board are sorting out the best way to deal with this (no doubt including when to start that will provide minimal impact to those visiting the VBS and while still maintaining the 5000 minimum capacity).

Yes that floodlight pylon doesn't enhance the viewing experience from the tardis terrace although in time i would imagine a new Main stand will diminish the problem.

I would anticipate that if the worst happens the away end would become the home end with the fanzone there remaining. The away end behind the GGL goal terminating at the corner flag.
The current fanzone removed to increase car parking space. Not sure what will happen to the other portakabins such as prayer room and player rest area.

Given some of the recent performances watching the floodlight pylon might be the better option anyway . Give it a squad number NOW !

Changing ends won’t be possibly as we need to supply seating for away fans.

Our traditional home end has always been Gander Green lane as far back as i can remember.

If the worst was to happen, could still replace the Collingwood terrace with a smaller temporary seating area, give them la curva and they use the park entrance behind it.
Also plenty of room to set up a fan zone there too.
