A first ever League Cup tie at Gander Green Lane tomorrow evening where we entertain League One Cambridge United (also known as the U’s).
Cambridge were largely thought to struggle this season but got their campaign off to a good start at the weekend beating Oxford 2-0. Not too many seasons ago where we visited The Abbey in the FA Cup narrowly losing 0-1 to them on a Sunday (was the season after the Arsenal run).
I imagine there may well be some rotation tomorrow night in the ranks but this surely represents our best chance so far of reaching Round 2 after previous defeats at Cardiff and MK Dons.

What are the rules for Tuesday? Is it extra time then penalties or straight to pens after 90/100 minutes.
I could see matches not finishing until 10.45 and the we have to get home. There is a case for making midweek games 7.00 kick offs

Unsurprisingly whilst many got the result right, nobody got the score line correct for the Notts Co match. Here is the form for this match forms.gle/JkZF5M3Xc4XiYnMeAScores are for what used to be called after 90 mins......

I'm surprised nobody got the score right 😂 - but then Sol was the only dreamer last season and even he has given up now

On Google rules suggest upto semi finals matches go to penalties straight after "normal time" I for one like the new rules governing added time, anything that counters cheating is good.

I'm sure all at the club would like us to progress to the 2nd round of this competition for the first time, and that rather dictates a strong line-up. After Saturday's performance, it's hard to envisage many changes. Perhaps Arnold in goal. And maybe a start for O'Brien, who has recent experience of playing against League One opposition.

But it doesn't counter cheating, does it? It still breaks up the flow of the game and just makes people miss their trains. To counter cheating, book the cheaters.

Time will tell, whether or not players attitudes change. Things have to be tried. I like as well the rule now that when a player has trainer on field, hobbles to side line then suddenly is ready to rush on , He now has to wait at least 30 secs before coming back on field of play. I agree if much longer games cause transport issues supporters groups could get together and get k.o times moved earlier by fifteen mins after it is our money that pays the wages. I notice a couple of cup games this week ko at 7pm so this is possible.

In Rugby League (not sure about Union), injured players are attended to and drinks brought on, whilst the play goes on uninterrrupted. Maybe time to try this out in football? And don't get me started on delays in Test Matches though with Bazball it's perhaps not quite the issue it was.

I didn't appreciate all the extra time that was added on after the end of each half. Makes the game too long !
